42 years ago I was in US army signal school, since then I have forgotten how to do this simple job. Thanks for your instruction, it's helped me remember. Cheers!

This is the best video I've seen. Unfortunately, even after doing this, I’m not getting any signal. From the looks of it, the problem is on the other side of the cable where workers disconnected the box that the cables come in through to the condo. I'm not really sure why they didn't fix that yesterday when they had a half-dozen trucks here working.

Ok, The Cable Stripping Tool is engineered to cut the coax precisely as needed. When you place the coax in the stripping tool, have the end of the coax flush with tools side. That way you don't need to cut the copper conductor, potentially bending it incorrectly, and causing errors.

I crimp rj45 all the time, sometimes 90ft up a tower but never coaxial cable. Ran into a project where I need to terminate the end of a coaxial cable and this did great in showing me how. Thanks for the video.

Great video. I have never messed with coax before. Now you have given me the confidence to do a repair myself.

lol i thought american stuff is cheap, $80?? how long is this cable?? if its for home usage shouldn't 6m or 13m be enough? you can get it in australia premade for $3 - $6 - $13 at k-mart depending on length

@@GawrGurasBathTubPizza I believe he was referring to the cable TV provider that would of had to come out to repair the cut wire.

Same. All the reviews for generic tools basically agree "you get what you pay for", but I can't find any that say "these are the best tools since sliced bread", so I don't know which ones to get that won't break after the 3rd or 4th crimp.

I do high voltage work and had to put one of these in for the first time the other day, my superiors gave me the twist on connector, I may have over twisted it because the shield portruded into the connector a little bit, but not too much. I still had bare copper with no shielding touching going into the female end, do you think that would cause an issue?
