What a lovely recipe, beautiful family! I wonder, does it not leave your hair greasy or limp with the coconut milk? (As coconut milk it's quite fatty). I have very thin hair so I though.. maybe use the coconut milk after on the lengths only? But then you said about your mum... did it stay clean afterwards a normal time? I'm so intrigued! (BTW I've washed my hair only with Soapwort for a year now. Amazing!!)

I gathered some horse chestnuts from a tree at my parents. When I broke them open to get the "seeds" some where white, some where Brown and some where white with brown spots. Some of the brown ones were more hollow on the inside either dried out or had a liquid looking interior. Any idea as to the difference and if one is better to use than the others? Thanks
@homeiswhereourheartis4 жыл бұрын
The ones that are solid white or brown or mixed white and brown are fine to use. The ones that are dry or hollow are probably too old. If you leave white conkers on your table for a day or two they turn brown too 🙂

From books and experiments. We make lots of things change them up swap things around and simplify them 🙂The horse chestnut handsoaps & shampoos are our own creations. We learned all about soap nuts and there uses but knew conkers can be used in laundry. So after much reading we learned conkers have been used in medieval times and beyond for cleaning. Long story short we figured out that horse chestnuts are the same as soap nuts and was the first to use them in online recipes 😁 Lots of things we make the modern world has almost forgotten like dandylion honey or stinging nettles soup we enjoy making them and sharing them with others to enjoy 💚
