When I came across your video for the first time, I thought you were too young and cute to make old fashion cornbread dressing. BUT sweetie your Grandmother taught you very well and your sister as well because you said her's is good as yours. This is exactly how I was taught and I am 66yrs old. My family LOVES my dressing. I will definitely try your recipe I've tried making homemade dressing a few times before, it didn't turn out right I should have learned how to make dressing when my Mother was alive, but I won't give up I'll try your easy to follow directions & I'll get it right much as I love homemade dressing, plus I make different recipes with dressing stuffed chip steaks stuffed pork chops stuffed chicken breast a lot of different things you can make with dressing. using a hen is a nice idea but this is the 2nd year that i have not been able to find one anywhere near philly or surrounding area. that said- i will never use any other cornbread stuffing recipe. i'll just use a chicken again. turns out delicious!!

Oh yeah girl, this looks delicious! I love to watch videos of people make dressing and I'd definitely eat yours. I love making dressing even though it's a labor of love. And, I agree that you have to have plenty of black pepper. I always sprinkle black pepper over the top before I bake it... Cause that's how my mom used to do it! Happy Thanksgiving 2021

My mom always used a hen in making her dressings and so I do the same and sometimes I will use turkey. Hen broth is the best hands down when making dressings! On point Shay! It looks delicious! I'm also Subscribing!

I am 100% with you on using a hen. As a matter of fact I put 2 big ones in a large electric Dutch oven roaster to be sure I have room to get enough broth for dressing, dumplings, and the gravy. Hen is way richer than turkey and chicken both.

Your dressing is made almost like my cornbread dressing. I get my stocks from chicken backs, yes u do needs some fats, that is where rich taste come from. Cream of chicken and cream of celery is use too. I just don't use eggs.

Hello and thank you for watching. I only filled the pot half way with water after I put in the hen. Because my hen was kinda big I put about a tablespoon each of all the seasonings. Which probably wasn't enough but keep in mind once everything is ready to be mixed you will need to season again. At that moment season to taste no measurements needed.
