How do you prevent bass sounds from getting too fuzzy? I tried to duck the lows a bit but then it just removes the bass straight up

Damn this is a crazy crossover. Have you tried ducking the lows of other mid Centered instruments? Giving the bass it’s own frequency space while also pushing it into mono will help it feel more comfortable in the mix

A trick I’ve seen from NailtheMix is to run bass through a free or paid distortion vst usually made for guitar. Gives you the grit if you need but the tone shaping will bring out the mids more. Sweep that tone knob to your liking.

Hey, great vid. A q I have is how do you decide on your arrangements? As far as I can tell you use similar arrangements most of the time with main sounds being pad in BG and nice pluck/kalimba Ish sound as an arp. I struggle to decide when to bring extra ear candy or leads and what I want them to sound like before the problem of sound design

@@germanhaguirre yeah the paid version is exactly the same feature wise it just gives you more wave tables and presets etc but this pack has custom wave tables and presets too

Nice video and sounds! But uh, how can you claim that these recent fellas have pioneered the genre? It was pioneered in the 80's and arguably late 70's by the kinds of Klaus Schulze / Tangerine Dream, Throbbing Gristle, Lustmord etc. Maybe there's a specific sound or style we're exploring here that is a recent trend but I think it's worth noting the proper roots here if we talk about roots.

Defo not claiming they invented ambient but more breaking down how to make this new wave of dark ambient similar to the artists mentioned, definitely many roots dating back 40 years + with Laurie Spiegel and Eno coming to mind first for me, but "dark ambient" for lack of a better description was used, could definitely do with a better name I guess!

I'm talking about specifically _Dark Ambient_ which also dates back some 40 years. If it's dark and it's ambient then it's dark ambient enough for me and I'm not here to gatekeep anyone but let's not pretend that these fellas, while they are undoubtedly great musicians, have invented a new genre. It's disrespectful towards the people whose legacy paved the way for ambient artists like me, you and the musicians mentioned here.

Hey mate, there is an instructions PDF in the folder, you need to go to settings import bank and click on the bank in the pack - make sure you have the latest version of Vital too (1.5.5 early access) drop [e-mail] an email if you are struggling and we can hop on a call
