Need to try these tips! I always have issues with lifting after I cure :(
@ashcpearce Жыл бұрын
I almost always do my nails before bed so that I can limit them coming into contact with any water, lotions or oils for a few hours. This helps tremendously. Also, if I am trying to make them last, I wear gloves if my hands will be exposed to water/cleaning items.

I’m finding a top coat helps a ton as does using a cuticle remover when I push my cuticles back. Last time they popped off quickly without using the cuticle remover. This time I also lightly buffed my nails a bit and used a glass cuticle pusher around where my nail meets my skin. Hoping my nail beds aren’t trashed when I remove them because so far they’re holding strong! Never thought to use the rubber pusher while they’re curing. Might try that too

How I remove them helps with the state that my nail beds are in after. I ironically never used a cuticle remover & think I will incorporate that. Thanks for the feedback & the tips!!

I use these and you don't need to use a top coat if you prep properly. Mine last 2 to 3 weeks and probably 4 weeks but I change them before then.

@greekgirlsings I feel like my nails go through cycles. I will go a few weeks without putting anything on my nails except some form of nail hardener. I try to use lotion A LOT (I specifically use shea butter) & rub it on my nail beds & cuticles. After they get a certain length, I do cut them & start over because when they’re too long, I hit them on things & break them. Or I’m scratching myself or my kiddos accidentally 😔

@@katherynlopes6416 and no, you should just be able to use any lamp that cures gel
@fallynskinner37283 ай бұрын
Yes and no for example we can use the brand beetles I would not recommend using this brand however - if your using their lamp, then you should always use their base and top coat and so on, if you like to add builder gel use theirs as well. I learned the hard way by mixing lines and now I am allergic to everything. I cannot wear nails at all in any way besides these strips or regular polish- no extensions and I wouldn’t risk trying glue personally. Basically if you use HEMA free products and you NEVER ever EVER get any wet polish on your skin and mean this seriously- you’ll be ok. Basically the monomers/polymer’s cause terrible/horrible allergic reactions. (I’m not a nail tech or professional please do your own research!!!!) What happened: It started out with my hands being itchy and a little red, like where my cuticles are. Then I’d get these tiny itchy blisters in clusters all over my hands. As I kept using the products, they started showing up on the rest of my body- first thighs, arms and then face and feet. (No I was not getting polish on my body the reactions are worse after each exposure) the only thing that would stop the reaction (no it doesn’t go away on its own or after a long time - I waited months once) were steroids. I was determined to find a brand I could use I may have found some but I’ll wait see though. I have a lot of scars from this, they are going away slowly - it seems dumb I know, why would you keep using it? Well it wasn’t terribly awful at first. And when I found HEMA free polish I thought I was good. A few months later I had the worst out break I’ve ever had. After getting meds I went to pitch all my gel products and simply from touching a body while throwing everything out or boxing up un used products for my friend was enough for the final reaction. My legs arms and feet were covered in thousands of tiny blisters, my skin basically fell off. My eyes were swollen, I was so itchy. Eventually it hurt so badly, there were blisters inside blisters. It was horrific. The meds didn’t work very well, I had oral steroids to many times in one year I had to swap those out for a cream which took MUCH MUCH longer to work. I wish more than anything someone would have told me. I did get brave enough to try another hema / allergy free product and still had a pretty awful reaction, I didn’t even get anything on my skin. My advice: The BEST way to avoid this is to use the same line aka the same brand all the way through as well the lamp as it is made to correctly cure the formula that’s in that lines bottle perfectly, other lamps are not and their wattage is made for those polishes you can end up over or under curing the polish which causes issues. Brands I would recommend: A great HEMA free brand is called CANNI (no typically HEMA free isn’t priced higher but some of the brands I am going to wait a while and try with a professional are much much more expensive- say 25$ a bottle verse 4-6$) they actually sell a set for 20$ usd that will give you a nail dehydrator, primer air dry, base gel, builder gel, top coat and matte top coat. Fabulous products before I couldn’t use HEMA free anymore. I know a few other brands I can you the name of however they are pretty pricy. Basically look for either all natural HEMA free or made in Europe as they have banded the chemicals typically causing these reactions (ask your doctor/ nail tech it’s more common than you would think - post covid nail problems) another brand is the manicurist I think that’s it, I believe it’s a French brand. I did not get a chance to open those products and try them but my friend loves them since she had developed a bit of a reaction to the beetles polishes. Final thoughts: Remember ladies these products are for professional use only so be smart and be careful. (NOT THE NAIL STRIPS THEY ARE COMPLETELY SAFE AND ALL I USE NOW) 💅 ❤ again im sorry this was so long but if i can help one person not go through this i will have done my job.

It’s recommended not to get the strip on the skin because if you do, it will lift. So you can get as close to the cuticle as possible but it still may be a tiny gap.

That is so unfortunate! Another thing that I’ve experienced is the potential of them “expiring” so if they’ve been manufactured a while ago but we’re just now receiving that batch, then the adhesion isn’t that great.
