Lovely earwire designs Sam! I don't make many earrings these days, I am in a pendant and chain making stage at the moment! If I do make earrings I tend to keep the earwire design simple, because I want the design of the earring itself to be the hero! if that even makes sense! lol🙃😉

Hey Sam! Very creative, I love them! You've actually given me some ideas for more decorative ear wires. Btw, where did you get your 6-step pliers from? I've looked for some the same size as yours, cause I'm not very good with round nose pliers either, and all I've been able to find are larger sized 6-steps. Now, I'm in Canada, but if you got them in the UK as long as they ship their products, then that's ok. It's pretty cheap to order from the UK, much cheaper than ordering stuff from the USA, believe it or not, even if we just use regular post. I just need the web address of the company that carries the same pliers as yours, and I can take it from there. Thanks, Sam. Great work!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. The pliers I use are from a company called PTL Prestige. I got them off Amazon I think, but I know they have a website too. Mine are 2-9mm but I know that some pallets are 3-10. Hope that helps 🥰

Sam, do you use regular copper wire for these? I’ve never put copper in my ears as I thought it may cause issues. Ever heard of problems with copper? If not, I’m going to go crazy with the earrings! 😂

Hi Marjorie. I can wear copper with no issues at all, so for me, I do use it a lot in my jewellery. The things I demonstrate can be done in pretty much any metal you like, so sterling, or stainless, or indeed niobium etc., would be ideal for these. I don’t have any issues but you need to decide whether to try copper in your ears ☺️

Hello and thank you for being here ☺️ You can certainly make the earrings as normal, but instead of using an ear wire, you can buy clip on earring attachments, which are great for those without piercings. There are some beautiful ones out there. ❤️

They come in 3-10mm and 2-9mm mainly. Mine are 2-9mm and I got mine from PTL Prestige. Really affordable brand but great quality

It depends on the person, to be honest. I wear copper in all sorts of ways. If you’re selling, I’d treat it, or use silver or niobium ear wires.

I’m so sorry! I had some technical issues 🫣 I use bare copper, or silver plated or gold plated copper. But you can use pretty much anything you like! Sterling, or niobium etc. These are just ideas x

Some are, some aren’t. So obviously, I just show ideas so you can choose the wire accordingly. You can make these with stainless and sterling silver etc 🥰

Copper allergy is rare. Copper can irritate the skin but that is not an allergic reaction and can be avoided by sealing your jewellery. The only warning I would say is that if you have a pacemaker to avoid wearing copper as magnetic fields from the copper may interfere with the pacemaker but check with your doctor first.
