Aaw, Miss June! We were blessed to have such lovely grandmothers...! ❤ I'll forever hold dear arriving at my paternal grandparents' and needing to walk all the way back to their garden. I have one picture of my grandma and me working in that magnificent Organic garden. And, a precious memory of my maternal grandmother was snapping peas on her front porch. I only got to do it once because I rarely got to see her. My mother died young, so we rarely got to see her until my big brother and I started driving! 😉😂❤ Precious, sweet memories! So many "cooking" videos today are for "meals" that are super easy, dump and go, 5 minute, etc, etc. There is a place for such things when time is extremely limited. But it seems we live in a world right now where too many parents are self absorbed instead of properly focused on the wellbeing of their children. I love chili beans. I mash them, then roll them in corn tortillas with shredded pepper jack cheese. Either pan spray them, or brush very lightly with oil. Bake them until brown. Best taquitos ever!

When I was a child, we were so poor we left the rocks in the beans to help us digest them. :-) "Chickens eat rocks to help them grind up their food. Chickens have to swallow mouthfuls of food whole, since they do not have teeth." Now that I am a very old man and have lost most of my teeth, I will have to start eating my beans with the rocks in order to grind them. Just joking. Great recipe and a very filling meal.
