I am rewatching your old videos because i love everything about the japanese culture and minimalism. I would love if you could make an updated video on easy and healthy japanese meals that we can eat every day. I love the one you already made. Question: do you also drink other japanese teas apart from matcha and if yes, qhich ones do you like? Thank you so much for your content , greetings from france❤ p.s. i ordered koshihikari rice and it is absolutely delicious, i love it.

This is so fun, thank you for teaching us about Japanese rice! I grew up in Italy, a country that also eats a lot of rice. But its a totally different type, the grains are even a different shape.

I have tasted rice made the Japanese way and it is fine but I prefer the way my mother cooks it: rinse long grain white rice, stir fry it in olive oil, add salt and seasonings and then water, and cook for 30-40 minutes. I love rice with a lightly caramelized bottom.

You can try the absorption method where you cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes then turn the heat off and let steam with the lid on for 20 minutes. Or you can boil the rice for 5 minutes, drain it and then steam for about 15-20 minutes. You can cook good rice but it won’t be perfect like with a rice cooker. A rice cooker is a good investment!

Just learnt that Japanese rice production is decreasing to its lowest because the average age of rice peasants is 70. and when they die, most of the time, no one replace them.
