INTRODUCTION
I am a self taught multi award winning cake designer based in London, UK. Wife and a mother of a boy. I run my own cake business by the name of Scrumptious cakes by fairy. I am very passionate about all things cake and love sharing my knowledge which I have accumulated in all those years of baking and decorating.

Beautiful work! Quick question, instead of carving the cake, can I just bake it in 6”, 7” and 8” pans? And then stack them according to size?

Somehow it doesn’t give nice slope hence I don’t prefer that. I did try it. But you can try and see if that’s what you prefer or find it easier.

Lovely cake and loved the detailed description throughout, so helpful. Just a quick question regarding the gold painting detail, could I use lemon juice is it the same as lemon extract? Or could I use Cocoa butter beans with the gold lustre dust? Thank you so much 🥰

I would not recommend lemon juice. It separates the lustre and makes it grainy. On the other hand lemon extract makes it smooth as it has oily texture. If you can’t find Lemon extract use regular cooking oil but keep in mind anything other than rejuvenator/ alcohol will not dry up completely so avoid touching once painted. Thank you Faryal

Ok I personally don’t like it smaller than this but yeah you can definitely make it smaller but just keep in mind that it might look as good as in bigger size.

Cool Calm and Mom I collected them over the period of 7-8years I really don’t remember. I bought them from different places including eBay, amazon, AliExpress and some cake decorating companies.

Thank you! This and all your videos are great! The people I am making this cake for want a whipped chocolate ganache filling. What are your thoughts on that? Do you think that is advisable?

Very kind of you dear. Yes you can use whipped ganache but whipping ganache makes its shelf life shorter. So keep that in mind. The cake can’t be left out of the fridge for the whole day like we can with non whipped ganache. Thank you

I use few brands. Normally I use Renshaw fondant. For wedding cakes and super tall cakes I use massa ticino. For boards covering I use Tesco super market’s own brand.

I bought them over the period of 8years I really don’t remember exactly. But I did but from eBay, Amazon , AliExpress and some from the online cake business websites. Kare Davies and fpc moulds are great quality

I wouldn't suggest that as the cake is very heavy and need a firm support from the outside. Hope that makes sense. Thank you Faryal

Renshaw fuchsia and emerald green fondant. Gold dust Faye Cahill in the shade regency gold and signature gold mixed together with Lemon extract to make the paint.

I bought them from different places and collected them over the period of 8years hence I do not remember exactly where I got them from. But have a look at eBay and Amazon search silicone scroll moulds and you might find some. Thank you Peace and love Faryal

Some quick questions for you! -why can’t you just paint the fondant details with luster dust before putting them on the cake? -how long do you wait after you kneaded the fondant with cmc powder?

Some time the lustre particles goes everywhere when you touch the piece hence I paint when it’s on the cake. I wait about an hour after adding CMC. Sometimes even less than that.

I use renshaw for most of my cakes. For wedding cakes or super tall cakes I use Massa Ticino. You can buy the fondant from cake craft company or cake decorating company website. Thank you Peace and love Faryal

Hi, I'm about to make this cake. Just wanted to check, won't the cake collapse if I bake round cakes and stand it to the side? It's going to travel a long way. So want to be extra careful. Thanks for the lovely tutorial.

What is the powder called you put into the fondant please and what does it do to the fondant?

It’s tylose powder. It makes the fondant stretchy and firm so it’s easy to use in moulds.

They are all from different places. Some are from cake decorating websites and stores, some from eBay uk and some from AliExpress. Search for scroll moulds and baroque moulds. Thank you Peace and love Faryal

I feel if you wanna achieve a good look and shape of the dhol then the size I have used in the video is the perfect size. Smaller than this would not have the same effect. However you can try making it from a 7” round. Thank you Peace and love Faryal
