I have been watching dirty pour videos for a little bit today to learn how to do this, and your explanations and pacing are some of the best i have seen. Thank you!

Try this for dirty pour: in the 5 or 7 compartment split cup, do rainbow colors. Pour them slowly on one side of the mold for interesting looking rainbow dice. P.S. Thank you for making videos, and keep it up!

Thanks for your fantastic video. Do your dice come out that glassy or do you sand them somehow?
@alchemistsattic Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they do actually come out that glossy (I made my masters really shinny so that my molds are really shiny), but I still sand down any lips or flashing and polish my dice after this point, too.

Maybe a silly question, but is there ever a concern for getting your cap on all the way/not enough? I know you don't want to push down as it can cause air to get sucked back in, but I sometimes worry I won't get it on completely and there will be a weird gap
@alchemistsattic Жыл бұрын
That does happen sometimes, yes. That's part of the reason I cut my mold lid keys so long now, so I can make sure my lid is sitting right or will sit right as it cures. I still get dice every once in a while with either really thick flashing or large bubbles where the resin didn't fill in right- that's just kind of something you have to expect will happen sometimes. You can mitigate some of it by making sure you put your lids on straight up and down (if you have the lids on at a slight angle it sometimes doesn't pull the lid down evenly), and making sure to get the lids on while the resin is still runny (I tend to run into those issues more if I take too long getting the dice poured and the resin is starting to get super thick).

How long do you wait before pouring when you do a split cup. I'm still trying to find that sweet spot where it won't blend, but isn't so thick I have trouble pouring.
@alchemistsattic Жыл бұрын
I wait quite a while (and sometimes I also accidentally wait too long and it's hard to pour)- usually right before or around the point where my gloves that have a little bit of resin on them start sticking to the stir sticks.

i tried the ink pour but my inks spread to fast and it became a mess >:
@alchemistsattic4 ай бұрын
Like, they spread on the surface of your cup? Or they didn't cure properly? What kind of mess? Maybe we can troubleshoot it a little bit.
@maiadraconica64884 ай бұрын
@@alchemistsattic the spread on the surface of the cup really fast after being dropped in and kindof merge.
@alchemistsattic4 ай бұрын
@@maiadraconica6488 oh, yeah, mine do that too. That's part of the reason I try to add the white drips on top of the color drips as quickly as possible.That seems to keep them a little more distinct for some reason. I also try to use ink colors that will look good if they mix a little because I expect they will some.

Is there a place a fellow creator can share dice even if not a patreon? Since I found your channel, I have managed to create a few masterpieces that I think might inspire you. Working on 4 more dice symbol designs before will hopefully open a company to sell dice full time.
