I would love a post with a scale of your handwashes from gentleness to least gentle and a discussion of why. Understanding gentleness and the reasons for it would be super interesting.

Hmm. I'm not sure I can really put them on a spectrum as there are a ton of variables, but here are a few points to consider: - Surfactants used-some are more gentle than others - Surfactant blend-blending charges tends to be gentler than not - Surfactant concentration-more surfactant is usually more effective but that can also mean more drying - Presence of fat/emollients-tends to make things gentler but also reduces lather - pH - Humectants Happy making!

Awesome! I swapped perlastan for sles (which is disodium/sodium cocoyl glutamate) and didn't thicken it, so I could put it in a foamer bottle. I scented it with pink grapefruit and sweet orange essential oil and raspberry fragrance oil, it's really luscious and fresh! Love it

Hi there! I'm a new subscriber and I really love your videos. I've learnt so much! I was wondering if there is anything that I can add to soap to help with strong stubborn odours from our hands? Like the smell of garbage... I've tried baking soda and soap but it only works some of the time. Thank you

You could try zinc rincinoleate? Just an idea, though, I haven't tried it!

How to make a handwash without the pump but can produce a lot of foam?
@gijsbo20004 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this recipe. Much needed. One issue puzzles me a bit, though. What ingredient or ingredients in this soap have the anti-viral function? By now it has become well known, probably, that a hand wash with plain old soap (plus thorough rinse afterwards), if done properly, not only washes the viruses away but actually kills them, as soap breaks down the mantle of the virus (consisting of fat and protein). The alcohol in a proper hand sanitizer does about the same. Now, I am not at all an expert, but so far I have not discovered an ingredient in your recipe with the same function. (It might be the liquid germall plus as it does have an antimicrobial function, it is a preservative after all. But one wonders if the concentration of that ingredient is sufficiently high to kill the virus more than just marginally). Could it be that the combination of the ingredients you propose has this effect? (Apologies for my English, not my mother tongue.)

Generally, regular soap has no anti viral/anti bacterial ingredients. What it does is lessen the surface tension between dirt in ur skin and ur skin for easy removal as you do handwashing. 😉
@HumblebeeAndMe4 жыл бұрын
It's the surfactants-the Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLeS), and Cocamidopropyl Betaine. Soap is also a surfactant, and on a molecular level they work the same way, with the double-ended molecule with a hydrophobic and a lipophobic end. Most products sold as "hand soap" contain no soap at all, using surfactants as I have here :) Happy making!

amazing video, is it possible to add some olive oil for moisturising instead of glycerine for example?

Olive oil will separate out, but that's why the cromollient SCE is in here-it's a water soluble emollient :) Happy making!

Can you please make a body wash surfactant base like this one, or how would i change ratios to make it a body wash? I tired making one and failed and I just made this one and its so pretty and clear :)

I've shared quite a lot of body wash formulations @ www.humblebeeandme.com/homemade-skin-care-recipes/how-to-make-hand-body-washes/. Also, there's no reason you couldn't use this as a body wash ;)

Humblebee & Me yes I love them just wanted to try one surfactant base because the ones I’ve tried once I add the sles turns into a gel blob and I wanted to try one were I can use a foamer bottle.

@@HumblebeeAndMe Thank you! I just looked at that link...what is the mayor difference between a foaming hand wash and body wash? I don't see a foaming body wash so if you have any input. @heviutza4 жыл бұрын
More foam doesn't necessary means that is better or more efficient. I think the most important factor here in this recipe was that the product is doing a good job washing your hands, considering the current situation of the world today. Not foaming. (she has other receips for that)
