I’m soooo happy to have found Assyrian food on KZbin!!! I’ve been brought up with Assyrian food as my best friends are Assyrian (we’ve beeb friends for over 45 yrs!) - they never give me the proper ingredients for dolma or any Assyrian food. Sadly their Mums have passed away and they were the best cooks in the world!! I’m going to make this very soon. So excited!! I’ve been maid of honour and bridesmaid at three Assyrian weddings. None of my English friends know how good Assyrian food is, so I’m going to show them!!! 🥰🤗 xx

I refer to this video now and again because we make these at home and if I don't follow this recipe exactly (I'm not good at following recipes and usually do my own thing) they are never as amazing as her's. Your cooking is so amazing and over the years my son always says it's the best dinner he ever had! Thank you for making these videos!

I made this a couple times with large collard leaves or cabbage leves but I got a big jar of grape leaves and I'm really looking forward to having this for dinner this week!!!

dolma dish is in more countries .... turkey, greece, iran. Often almost the same (only not large but small capsicums in Turkey) and herbs.

The only good dolma are Assyrian and Turkish varieties. Greek, Arab, and Persian kinds are, excuse me, unappetizing. @@pinarege2672

Usually we put the hard stuff auch as eggplant, capcicum at the bottom, but you did the opposite, thanks for sharing

I always put salt on eggplants to get rid of bitterness. I leave the salt on them for at least 30 minutes. I put potatoes on the bottom of the pot.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this recipe! Do you know how many times I've asked my grandma and aunt to teach me? We make it a little bit different, but what I like most about your recipe is that you used the remaining vegetables in the rice so you don't waste any food. Great recipe!

Artemis Hearth I prefer long grain but you can definitely use short grain rice 😊

my fave dish that I love to make I love dolma I make it once a month for my family but they can't do vegetarian dolma they have to have the beef lol but I love it anyways

I love dulma - iprax i use to eat it a lot back in my land north west iraq on turkish and syrian border and the kurmanci bahdini Kurds on the other side of the border south east turkey and north east syria also make it

That's true ,but Assyrian people already iraqis ,so it's iraqi dish but in Assyrian style, the Assyrians ,kurds ,turkmens, etc , they are iraqis already and it's iraqi dish but there is some diffrence between them when thay make dolma.

@@MiddleEast-4Ever It's not ,and iraqi style of dolma like a new dish and very diffrent from turkish dolma , this dish improved in midlle places of iraq and from there kirds and Assyrans and turkmens etc ,taked it ,Any way ,if it's Arabic or kurdish ot turkish it's still iraqi dish cause all of them are iraqi.

@@thegizmokid5268 They are literally one people. It's like the Syriac Orthodox and the Syriac Catholics. Chaldeans are Assyrian uniates. You don't change ethnicity because you gain communion with Rome. Chaldeans are Assyrian Catholics. Syriacs are Assyrians of the Western dialect of the Orthodox faith, All are Suraye/Suroye, all speak Sureth, all share history and all share language
