I'm just curious of which other intstrument, if any, is in some way similar to the Serum Instrument. Not to mention the fact that you can tell these guys know what they're doing. I'm just a beginner and I was absolutely amazed...Making that thing sound like that, I was like WHOA!!! WHOA!! Mindblowing for sure.

Vital (freeware) - i was able to convert several Serum tutorials easily into Vital. The sounds in this Video can be done in Vital for sure, but you have to search a little for the right settings, because the knobs react in a slightly other way than in Serum.

This is how you do a tutorial! No BS just straight up action. Well probably not the best tutorial for extreme beginners.

Love this tutorial bro! I've got a quick question for everyone.. Once you've got a sound like this, how would you mix the sub bass in relation to your kick? Would you split this sound and process the synth and the sub separately? Would you high pass this sound and create a separate sub completely? Or would you do neither and just mix this sound so that it sits nicely with the kick on its own? Thanks in advance!

sidechain works for me
@ianfroud702 жыл бұрын
Sub bass separately personally ,but then it's down to how long you been in the game or what works for you .
@ShieldJesus420 Жыл бұрын
You can either sidechain compress the sub to your kick so the volume of the whole sub will duck out the way each time the kick plays or you can use a dynamic eq like fabfilter and sidechain the low band of frequencies in the sub where the main body of the kick lives and duck the frequencies each time the kick plays

After recording they upload the clip they recorded. Most likely they will do some editing on the that same clip by readjusting the length of each wave. Almost waveshaping and or cutting, and stretching to the layouts of the beat. If you kind of get my drift. I've been doing a lot of studying on this stuff and its still just amazes me. You can tell professionals from the beginners like me.
@djtek-nja Жыл бұрын
Also if they wanted to they could use the layout of the Keyboard setting each key in place of the layout of the track if you do it the beginner way like me. Recording your variations of the sound and using the waveform though is one the most professional , intuitive ways to incorporate everything with the Kick of the track. Everytime they press the keyboard it shows on their screen to the left. They would just have to place the sounds in whichever point they want it in the layout of the track itself.

Good video, keep em coming. Why do you record in Edison at the end, do you trim it and use different parts at a later date? Thanks.
@adrianpurcell22525 жыл бұрын
Yeah mate, it's best to play around and get lots of variations of the sound recorded and then resample for your bassline.
@YeahSorryAboutThat4 жыл бұрын
You can also chop it up, add loop points and export the audio to a sampler channel, cross-fade the loop and use the sample as its own instrument, the benefit being that the lfo speed is then dependent on the pitch - stick portamento on and you have a wobbly reese without having to dick around with tuning the oscillators to match the tempo.
