This is an astonishingly sturdy bag. If you need a larger size, you can always tape two sheets together. Then it wouldn't be completely without adhesive, but still better than a plastic bag.

When grocery shopping back in the day, the bagger would ask paper or plastic. I'd get paper and recycle by giving the bags to my cats to play with. Can't get paperbags anymore. So thanks for this video. Now I can make some for them myself. 🐾

This is really great, but keep in mind that the printing process involves a litany of non-foodgrade chemicals. It's why serving fish and chips on newpaper was recently banned in GB. Best not put produce for sustained amounts of time on newspaper.

My local newspapers are printed with soy based ink so, I recommend checking what the print is because each paper states it on the paper. Not all print is toxic.

Good lord, Printing has been using Soy based inks for over 20 years...that's a stupid Law. There's more bad stuff in the Fish and the Oil it's fried in than a Newspaper.

wow so simple , I wanted something like this to make tiny pouches so that I can fill it with little rice and place in jars containing salt , sugar etc to make it moisture free . naturally because its related to food I wanted to avoid glue or staples . This was so wonderful - Thanks so much.

That's such a nice thought... I suggest if u want to place it in Salt prefer making with plain paper or a peice of fabric... Bcz the ink on paper might be harmful

@@pallu4u doing it with newspaper, I think the newspaper ink seepage is negligible overtime. Advantage of newspaper is its porous nature. Your suggestion of cloth seems great - will see if I can make it using cloth. 🙂

Almost identical ..... I found a booklet in a thrift shoppe about Canadian Women’s Guide to Childbirth at Home - it gives very similar instructions in creating ‘placenta bags’... safety pins would be used and attached surrounding the bed she planned to birth on. It was said it was her duty and responsibility to prepare for her special day, and having these newspaper bags handy for her helpers were part of the deal. I’ve been making placenta bags to use in my kitchen ever since. They’re the perfect size for scraps of food and stores in my fridge till garbage day.

This is invaluable! I make my own bird toys and needed a no-glue option for foraging bags. This works really well with 8x10 paper if you turn the paper 90° and start the folds from the landscape side. Hopefully that makes sense. 🤠

We can use this to discard garbage as most of us use plastic covers to discard garbage. If we are going to use it for vegetables we can follow this method in brown paper instead of news paper
