How to make easy watercolor backgrounds

Steps:
0. Secure paper to clipboard using painter's tape
1. Select 3-4 marker colors
2. On the plastic bag, scribble the markers to add color
3. Add water to the surface using spray bottle
4. Flip plastic over and press design onto paper
5. Manipulate colors using your fingers (not too much!)
6. Optional: use plastic wrap to add texture
7. Optional: dry design with heat tool
8. Optional: add a second layer of color

1:57 Oh and I'm not a pro artist but lemme tell you something, if you have small gaps left between 2 colours, try not to fill them cuz when you add water and paste them, they are just going to blend there. If you try to fill then and it goes wrong, your colour's brush will mix will other and make it a 🌠 D i s a s t e r 🌠

Good demo. Few more ideas for plastic: clear stamp envelopes cut up, slice bottom and sides of the folders used to hold paper in binders. You can get very small misters three to a bag at Michaels or online at Amazon. They do a great job of getting water on the paper but not a lot. Try a bit less water and spin the plastic around or drag it across the paper. Have fun.

Phil's Wife Forever I’ve never tried on a canvas but I think the water based markers won’t stick very well. You could try with more concentrated watercolor or a different type of ink instead!

If the paper is glossy, the ink probably won't stick to it - the paper needs to be able to absorb the ink which is why watercolor paper or cardstock will work better.
