Use freezer paper...shiny side up to spread instead of plastic wrap. It's easier to control...and reusable. And you can write on it so you don't have to guess what colors used.
@jesuminesam6763 жыл бұрын
Pls which one is freezer paper, how does it look? I tried it with foil and it didn't come out.
@jesuminesam6763 жыл бұрын
Is freezer paper the same as parchment paper? If not, Will parchment paper work?
@peepla73 жыл бұрын
Freezer paper is white paper with a coating of plastic on one side. Sold by Reynolds. Used for wrapping meats...if that helps. The plastic side ... waterproof...keeps it from getting soaked like parchment paper can. Aluminum foil is too weak in this sense as the glitter and foil combo will not be good....foil will fall apart, fingers will poke thru and such

Hi sugar geek show I made this edible glitter and used it on a 21st birthday cake. I was lucky enough to get to try it, but I really didn't like it at all. It was hard and sharp-ish and not really edible. I was wondering if mine came out wrong or if maybe I say it's for decoration only and to remove before eating, so maybe use only on buttercream as it can be cut off rather than fondant which it wont scrape off and i dont like wasting fondant. It did look amazing though! Thank you :)

Thank you for the tutorial. 2 questions. I would like to add flavoring, could I use jello instead of plain gelatin, if not how would I flavour it? Also If I wanted to make a lot how would I package and store it so that it doesn't dissolve or become sticky or go mouldy?
@SugarGeekShow6 жыл бұрын
Plain gelatin does not get sticky or go moldy, it's shelf stable. You can add flavoring with candy flavoring but really you don't taste the sprinkles that much

Well, Here it is Friday November 8th. I made this on the 6th and it's still a pliable sheet ( except for the edges are starting to get "crisp". How long does this take to actually dry? Going to have to go another route since the cake needs to be done today and the "glitter" will still not be firm enough to put in the grinder. Love the concept and idea. Just need to know how long YOURS took to completely dry? I am using wire racks now that I have transferred it to get the air flow on both sides.
