we have Late Thoroughwort blooming in our garden and I absolutely love the smell. I'd love to try to make an oil with it, but I'm concerned that it may not have enough oil within the flower to make it worth cutting down the plant. Anyway I could test to see?

Should take thin clear case of it. Put heated plate underneath it. Face down solar panel on top, like lid...See if the panel gets charge from facing the oil with heat rising under it.

You're putting the lavender stems dry into the still? I'm just curious why dry versus not wetting them? I've seen soaking the stems so they're drenched and then packing it into the still. Is that not the right way or just a preference? What has been your experience?
