One time, I made up a Pokemon based on a 1987 Toyota Hiace. Its name is Drugace, it's Steel/Ground type, and has the following base stats: HP: 45, Attack: 200, Defense: 38, Special: 97, Speed: 220.
@piyushmenon49874 жыл бұрын
Damn, that thing would be faster and hit harder than any other Pokemon in existence. Then again, a Mach Punch will easily end it. EDIT: Oh wait! Is that why you named it Drugace? Very funny.

The starters include giratwig, florakapi, trunkiraffe (grass/fairy), vipsear, pyropent, pharacobra (fire/poison)(snake/cobra Pokémon), Ekorogent, ecoporp, and humpecho( humpback whale Pokémon), (water/psychic) The first normal type is a baboon (babacute (normal), and baboom (normal/fighting)), and the regional bird is a flying/psychic peacock.

Wow. That was a helpful video on fakemon. It is good advice to get started. I am so glad you talked about overdesign. This is a common issue for Pokemon beyond the first two generations. Believe me. Kyrem is just the tip of the iceberg. Pun not intended. It is a shame for Kyrem, because a grey ice dragon is a really interesting concept. That has so much potential for something cool. Maybe one can draw a basic European dragon and color it gray. Then one can just add a few blue diamond patterns. Then boom, it is good to go. There are some ice Pokemon with nice tasteful designs. There is things like Articuno, Glacron and Amaura. I even like Dewgong despite the hate it gets. Dewgong is so pretty. I just can't complain. One can totally have an elegant Pokemon like that but a dragon. Maybe it can get some design elements from Dragonair. That is a nice dragon design, and the blue and white chrytaline form fits the ice type pretty well. When I look at fakemon designs, I find that they are often overdesigned. Maybe they looked at the inferior style of gen 3 and later. Then they got the wrong idea. I do have a critisizm of the fakemon in the video. It doesn't look like a rabbit. A grass type rabbit is a good concept. It makes a lot of sense. In real life rabbits are highly specialized herbavors. Domestic rabbits are really into eating grass and hay all the time. Despite the stereotype they can't handle eating carrots all the time. So it is fitting for a fantasy rabbit creature to gain grass magic from the food it eats. There are quite a few Pokemon like this. The Chikorita line and Tropius are both sauropod dinosaurs. Torterra is part Ankylosaurus. The Skiddo line is goats. The Feeling line are deer. All people are grass types that mix plant and herbavors. So grass rabbit works as a concept. However the execution isn't very good. The resulting creature doesn't look like a rabbit at all to me. It is way too scary and monsterious. Rabbits are gerally little, fluffy and cute. They even look like babies of some bigger animal, even when they are technically adults. The hares are the rabbits that look the most mature. However even they have a lot of cuteness to them. I can recognize the Buneary, Bunnelby and Scorbunny lines to be rabbit-like. The evolved forms of Lopunny and Cinderace have more of a hare look to them. It works well with the anthropomorphism. Azumarril is bearly recognizable as a rabbit. It is a cute creature with long ears. So I propose two changes. One can be picked. One is to make the design more like real rabbits. This is to make the design cuter. Alternatively one can pick a scarier looking herbavors and make that grass type. It can be an elephant, rhino, hippo, bull, herbivorous dinosaur or anything like that. Toros and Rhydon were really cool and scary Pokemon. So having something like that with grass type would work better. Deer are really cool and intimidating herbavors. However Pokemon already did that on gen 5. So I don't recommend doing that, unless one can put a new creative spin on the concept and design. I thought the seasonal firms was a nifty gimmick. Deer have seasonal changes in their antlers in real life. So one can compare that to seasonal changes in foliage and make a Pokemon out of that.

Absolutely amazing video, just read some comments and saw this is your first video too!! I like your style and this is very helpful. I’ve been making starts to make an entire dex of mons and eventually perhaps making a game out of it. Started making concepts, type combinations, abilities, concepts, movesets and most of all concepts. I’m leaving the art for later. You also helped me realize that I should use objects for reference more often, I’ve been obsessed with putting cool animal and plant life and even folklore into my concepts. Completely forgot about inanimate objects. Also magnemite and klink line is super cool in my opinion!! Their designs may be just a metal thing attached to them and being fused into one mass but I think it’s a rather cool idea and at least some pokemon had to have that concept. Also… Pikagreen :3

I remember listening to Meloetta's Relic song while drawing my redesign of my basic fakemon (a Normal-Fairy type. Back in 3rd grade I was originally going to base it on the Gardevoir evolution line minus Ralts and have three versions. The Regular, which was a pure Fairy type, the Peace, which is a Fairy-Psychic type, and the Demon, a Fairy- Dark type. I started having more original thoughts and scrapped the Peace and Dark idea) and then some anime themes while I was drawing the first stage evolution. When I started on the final evolution (a Ghost-Fairy type), scarier music started playing. It got even scarier by the time I started on the Mega Evolution (I like calling it the "Vengance/Revenge form." It's a Ghost-Dark type) I was thinking of doing their dex entries yesterday but I didn't have the time to do so Also I think you deserve way more subs than I already have

I made a lizard that disguises itself to look like corn so it can eat crops, small birds, mice, bugs and seeds, its a grass/dragon type woth the ability pick pocket Is this a good fakemon
@epikitee21864 жыл бұрын
I think it's pretty good, though I'm not sure about the dragon typing. Not every reptile is immediately dragon type - look at Kecleon. Dragon-types tend to be powerful and awe-inspiring and/or mythologically based. I don't know if your fakemon really fits that; your description doesn't make it sound too much like either of those things, but it's also a pretty short description, so I don't know for sure. Other than that, it seems like something that could exist in the Pokemon universe, and I, personally, love Pokemon that disguise themselves to be powerful predators. It just makes the world seem so much more real.

On thing I’ve learned is that you usually can’t get a great design when you’re looking for one As an example, I’m usually not even thinking about Pokémon when I get an idea for a Pokémon. I was thinking about Citrus fruits when I suddenly realized that Orangutan sounds similar to orange (their etymology is completely different, but they sound similar). So what if I made a citrus orangutan Pokémon? Or maybe a regional variant? But what Pokémon should I mak a variant out of? Wait, Buddha’s hand citrus, Aipom! And now we have a regional variant and evolution of Aipom based on Orangutans, Buddha’s Hand Citrus, Monks, ect. That’s a cool concept I’d say
