im pretty sure i did everything you said, but as soon as i get to 5:29 it immediately says ''unable to download xxx'' and ''download error'' all the way through and doesnt explain why. please help i do have nexus premium solved: as someone said in the comments down below, if you sign outve nexus using the gear icon (settings on wabbajack app) and sign back in, itll fix the download issue. at least it did for me. hope it helps

One Addition: If your wabbajack refueses to install, you need to start Fallout4 VR at least once before you ca install the mods, because a necessary ini file will be created on start. Atfer you startetd Fallout4 VR once, you can finally install your modlists.

So to answer your question, no the gamepass version will not work in “VR mode” since it’s not just a different mode, it’s an entirely different game. It’s not like RE4R on PS5 where one purchase of the game will give you both flat and VR modes :( You might be able to grab the DLC files from your gamepass install of the regular F4 game, but you’ll still need to purchase “Fallout 4 VR” on Steam.

Hi all, please be aware that Bethesda are releasing a huge overhaul of Fo4 today. Now it may affect some or many of these mods. It's not expected to affect VR too much but for flatscreen it will. Many of these mods work both of flatscreen and VR. It is possible to lock all updates via steam and its also possible to rollback updates. If you've been affected by the changes it should be a few weeks until Silverlock release an updated F4SE. At this time we are unsure of how this overhaul will affect all mods particularly the ones shown in this video, it may not make a difference, it may break the game. Stay tuned.

I put a notification out to everyone to stop updates on Fo4. Once Silverlock update F4SE all the modders will fall in line. VR shouldn't have been heavily affected it's more flat screen. The issue is that most of these mods are both flatscreen and VR.

Idk what platform you're on, but the Steam Link app on the MQ3 is also pretty great. I think VD has overall better customization and options, but I did get a little bit of a smoother performance on Steam Link

I've never used Steam Link, I should get around to testing it out. I use Airlink and SteamVR. To be honest since getting a dedicated router I've never had issues. And I don't like fixing what doesn't need fixing.

@@DeadPixelGaming I definitely recommend at least trying it, since it’s an official app on the Meta Quest and directly interfaces with Steam. I also have a dedicated wifi6 router solely used for my Quest. The airlink has to be ran through Oculus PC software as a bridge to SteamVR… for me that’s always been such a hassle, and even after tweaking several settings, I’ve never had as good performance as I did with Virtual Desktop. Likewise, besides there being really cool things you can only do with VD, I get even better response times with Steam Link.

I've only ever had bad experiences with VD. It's got a lot of decent features sure but for me, as long as I can use vr viewer on steam vr (to accurately show ADS) I'm happy. I can't understand why even Habie still doesn't use steam viewer. Whenever he plays vr you can't see him ADS. His gun is always to the side.

@@DeadPixelGaming I've actually run into a similar issue. Followed the guide, booted MO2 and it would run a game window for a few seconds before crashing. I refreshed the mods with WabbaJack, downgraded following your newer vid and same issues. After combing through each mod, I found 8 that were causing the crash (Check Patcher, Reverb & Ambiance, Ultra Interior Lighting -- to name a few). Disabled them, successfully played until leaving the Vault (crash) 😂 Wish I was more tech savy and could find the underlying issue, I really like the look of this mod package.

No you don't need nexus premium but if you don't have it then you'll be prompted to click each download by wabbajack individually which can take a very very long time. Wabbajack saves progress but by god it would take long.

The modding community for Skyrim SE/AE/VR is for sure around 3 times the size of Fallouts unfortunately. The biggest issues I have is the lack of HIGGS/PLANCK style mods in Fallout. But we do what we can with what we have!

A couple of days ago I bought myself Oculus Quest 2, and the first thing I wanted to play was Fallout 4 VR. Since I initially knew that without mods, fallout 4 VR would not give me the experience I needed. I started looking for interesting ready-made mods for the game. I came across your video and have been trying to install it all for 8 hours now)). I’m sitting at work, remotely connected to my PC at home, loading the mod into Wabbajack one at a time, because in the first 2-3 hours I realized that there was no point in clicking everything at once, the loading on some mods would freeze, nothing would download and everyone The mod does not download at a speed of 2 MB/s. Apparently 2 MB/s applies to all mods in the queue. And it's just HELL!!! in the 6 hours I’ve spent now, I still have 60 more mods left to download, and the further a mod is on the list, the more it weighs, I don’t know how much more time I’ll spend, I’ll write down how much it took. It’s a pity that I don’t have a nexus premium subscription, I would gladly buy it, but because of sanctions in Russia this is impossible. I hope when I download and install all this, this collection of mods will give me a lot of pleasant impressions :3

Its in this modlist and activates once you leave the vault. No guns are one to two hand operated. I mostly use the AKM, needs two hands. Fyi make sure you downgrade your DLCs. I made a video on it

Thanks for the guides. For anyone having issues: Make sure after logging into Nexus, your download and install folders are [separate directories] with overwrite enabled. Then quit wabba, relaunch, and click play. This solved my immediate download failures.

When using the wabba it asks you for two directories. Install and download. Usually when you start the process the download folder is automatically applied to your install folder. If this was the case for you, move it out of your install folder (if the mod list has already installed) if not, make different folders in separate locations in the same drive. When you right click the folders and go to properties you should see a toggle saying read only. Make sure this is not on.

I found the solution for the Fallout4 vr.ini problem. it's because our games are in French. you must put the games in English, and the installation of wabbajack will be finalized

Keep getting "Mod Organizer is locked while the application is running. Fallout4VR.exe" with an unlock button. The tab will auto close after about 5 min and not open the game. Did the rollback any thoughts?

Mod organiser is locked isn't an error. That always happens its just telling you that mod organiser is locked so that you can't mess with the mods during game play. Are you opening everything in the right order? Also what are your specs.

Thanks for this video. I wonder however about the DLC's. Didn't know what they are or do and to install Fallout 4 (flat), would mean I have to buy it in order to get DLC's for free and all 32 in one time? So, then I looked at Steam and I googled them and it seems that those DLC's or Workshops are available to buy or to get with a gamepass (which I don't have). So, are they necessary to make Fallout VR look better with this Wabbajack install? Do I really want 32 DLC"s or just a few? I'm not very satisfied with the looks of my Fallout 4 VR version, even though I have installed mods, it looks as if they don't work at all. I still have no body (though I installed the mod for it and there is no error message) and hardly anything works... Though disappointed in that respect, I still like the game a lot. Have it in VR over two years now. I stopped playing for a while, but the series made me go to it...

So here's the thing, they cost between 3.99 to I think around 9.99. I bought them all for something like £28 I guess? 5 DLCs in total of I remember correctly. They add loads and loads of storyline and map and gameplay and are required for most mods (like my AI Mantella NPC guide, which Is an absolute must!). I'd highly recommend getting the DLC and using this mod pack, I don't know how many mods require the DLC but there's 280 files worth so...

All I needed to do (which nobody ever mentioned) is go into the Fallout Folder and click on F4sevr_loader. Now my game runs with my mods working. What a difference. I always booted up from within the Vortex app, but this is way better. How come nobody ever mentioned it? Did you know about that? Anyway... it's 5 am, my day started really good. Can't wait to play tonight!

Well, it would be the DLCs that need rolling back which is flatscreen. However there's now a nexus mod which fixes everything or so I'm told.

I rolled the flat version back and double checked the version and it worked and it starts. I copied the rolled back DLC and the VR version will not load after clicking run in MO2. Steam VR will go black and then go back home. I’ve started from scratch three times so I have no idea why this isn’t working.

@millah2312345 hey, just to confirm. Did you start steamvr first before running anything else? When steamvr goes black (you close it and it keeps trying to reopen) it's because you didn't start it first. Get your headset on and in linked mode and turn on steamvr until you see your library. I do mention the load order at the end of the video. This should fix it

I'm fairly certain many of the mods require the DLC. Which is why I start by installing it. Either way, they don't cost much and they add hundreds of hours of new content

I play fallout 4 VR with mods without owning the DLCs in flat, it simply depends on the mods you use. If you want to use a mod list but it includes a mod that needs dlcs you could still try to find out which mods are included in the modlist and manually install only those that don't need the DLCs. If you're getting your mods from nexusmods look for the "requirements" section of the description tab of the mod you want. It states all the requirements very clearly.

Yep I'm very aware of that. I'm not doing that with 280 mods. Check the mod list yourself, but I'd be extremely surprised if not at least a few of them required the DLC. Especially considering many of them are texture rehashes. Feel free to disable them through Mo2.

There are so many variables in what may or may not make the game run well. If you're having issues with performance look for optimisation mods.

Yes. You need to download the flat screen game and DLC in order to move the DLC across. You can delete the flat game after when you want.

@@puddleglum3306 Nope, unfortunately the original pancake Fallout 4 is a separate purchase. I believe the Game of the Year edition was just on sale on Steam, but looking now the sale seems to be over. It goes on sale regularly though, and the Game of the Year edition has all the DLC to copy over for the VR version. I've never played the regular pancake version of FO4 but I bought the GOTY edition on sale for cheap so I could copy the files over to the VR version. I believe the GOTY edition is on sale in the Epic store, and Fanatical also has it for cheap, if you're interested. With the recent "next gen" update that the pancake version of FO4 has, I'm not sure if it breaks the Mad God mod pack or not.

So the modlist has flatscreen and VR mods but all are managed through FS4VR so you shouldn't have issues due to the update. Often an instant crash is an issue with specs.

Trust me it will be there. Sometime it installs without its icon, so it'll look like a white file. But just look in the mods folder (the folder before where all the individual mod pack mods have been installed). Alternatively just do a search for it from the root directory

Mo2 locks itself to stop changes during gameplay that's normal, it will always pop up. The other issue, open steamvr first before any other apps. For some reason it crashes if you don't.

Some guy answer that he played both games using some edgepeek function and exchanging vats for a bullet time mod. And it looks like the new beta version of vorpx is better for Windows 11, so a reinstall will be necessary.

Firstly how much space do you have on drive? Secondly did you log in to Nexus on Mo2? Did the install fail? If so log out of wabba nexus account and log back in that usually fixes that. Alternatively just go to nexus and download those few mods. It won't take a minute.

hey man, thank you first of all for this nice tutorial but somehow I can't get the wabbajack install to work. I did the downgrade and everything but no luck. It finished downloading all the mods but the installation failed at the end and it just says: "could not find file 'E:/Fallout 4 VR mods/Fallout 4 VR - Mad God Overhaul Classic.wabbajack' " . I tried numerous times putting the wabbajack file in the folder and running it again and again but its always the same result. I also tried logging in and out of nexus on wabbajack, it helped me with the problem where it won't even start the download properly, but not with this problem. I have nexus premium. like I said, it looks like all the mods are downloaded already and I now have a folder with lots of ZIP and RAR datas and it also createt a folder called _temp_ which has another folder in it called random numbers and letters, but that one is empty. would be cool if you have an Idea how to fix it, I'm realy hyped to play it and thank you in advance for the help! P.S. will it work if I just extract all the ZIP and RAR files manualy or would that just break it? I'm scared to try it because I guess I will have to download everything again if it fails!

Hi there, you will need all of the flatscreen DLCs to make this work. If you copy the DLC files from flatscreen and paste them into VR they work in VR. It's an awesome way to add extra content to VR.

To be honest yes. The 2080s is a beast for the 2000 series. You might need to lower some settings. The 3000 series were disappointing compared. The 3060 is downright weaker than most of the 2070+ series...

Hey, it automatically comes installed with Mo2. You don't have to install it. It's a one click installer (mod manager and all). You can't (to my knowledge) install madgods through wabbajack and get vortex.

Hey, yes Frik is included but has to be activated in Mo2. The rest of the mods come activated. This is just so you don't bug out when starting a new game.

Hello, im currently having trouble with downloading the mod list with wabbajack not being able to download some textures called "fallout 4 textures2" and so forth. Right now i deleted the high resolution dlc in hopes that it might fix it. Also one thing to note is that i have the gingas vr modlist download and working.

If you have her modlist up and working it's likely conflicting with madgods. Madgods modlist has over 280 files. Regardless Bethesda are releasing a big update today and most mods will be unstable now unless if you lock steam from updating your game

I had the same issue, because I ran out of space on my drive. How much spare space do you have? Wabbajack keeps its progress so if you need to make space do so and push play on the install again. I had to clear around 80gig of space.

You will need to roll back. The last update changed a lot. (Just the DLCs need rolling back). Check nexus for the rollback mod and once done copy the DLC's back over.

Hey Lew, as superkillr so eloquently puts it, it's likely that despite the VR version of this game not being affected by the update, some of the mods are flatscreen and VR compatible. In particular, Silverlock will need to update their F4SE (they've already put out an announcement). Alternatively you can rollback to a previous game version on steam and lock updates.

FRIK (the mod which allows you to see your hands and arms) only works once you leave the vault. Once you leave the vault it will autostart. If it doesn't you can activate it through Mo2. Glad you found the mod useful! Dont forget to subscribe 😉

I bought Fallout 4 three times now (plus one more in VR), and I don't even like it that much. I started off with the Collector's Edition on the PS4 on release, but was disappointed by the whole settlement design, and then having an object limit count, that couldn't exceed a single well-designed building. Then 3/5 DLCs in the included season pass were about settlements, which I simply didn't play, because I was already pissed. Then a bit later I bought it on my Xbox, when mod support came out, and I tried it again, just to realize, it didn't get that much better, but I still played it for a while. Then a few days back I finally bought it on my PC, because I know you can add the season pass content into the VR folder, and it works inside VR, even though the VR version has no DLC content included. I don't even know if I will have the motivation and time to play it at all, but now I technically have the possibility to play it either on PC or PCVR with mods. We shall see how it goes... Sidenote: Fallout 2 is the best Fallout, and Fallout New Vegas is the most boring one. There now you'all know! ;)

hey sorry if im asking stupid questions but the game is laggy, even the vanilla vr is laggy, like really laggy, i had to downgrade the graphics into potato to make it playable, im maxxing the pixels on my meta quest app but with 72fps cap, i didn't change any of the resolution settings in steam vr , i have 3090 with cpu ryzen 7 75003d. and the game looks like vanilla fallout 4 vr even after the installing the mods successfully, how can i play with graphics inside the game, i don't know what to do. do i have to change the settings for my meta quest 3 pixels?

Just to confirm, you're playing at 200% pixel density? On your quest? If so that's likely the issue. This modpack runs 4k resolution texture packs.

Keep your pixels on your quest at 100% and run the mod normally. You have to understand you're doubling everything. The textures themselves are at 4k.

But there is a blurring effect, i turned off TAA and improved TAA , but only had DLAA checked, one last question. What is the best settings to fix the blurriness? 72/90hz is how often the screen refreshes. Like on a normal monitor. 90hz is a good spot to be in. The 80 to 100 to 200% slider is the pixel density. It makes the image much sharper but uses a lot of resources. The thing is, the texture packs in the game are already set to 4k so they are very sharp. Dlaa/dlss it's best to go through them all and see which gives you the best performance to quality ratio. Glad you subbed, I do a lot of VR related stuff 👍😁

I am French so I did: put the games in English then I changed the language line under the title of the fallout4.ini file, to fr :) and I have the voice in English and the subtitles in fr and everything the mods work :) That's if that helps ;)
