Some of you may have seen my guide on how to play Skyrim and Skyrim VR with fully sentient conversing NPC's using the incredible Mantella mod... Well... The great developers have now introduced this incredible technology to Fallout 4 and Fallout 4 VR and this is exactly how to do it!

About implementing to Fo1 and Fo2? The problem is the character sheet. Its like a million characters in size and describes each character, their history and temperament and needs to be completed per character. Plus engine... hence why we are not considering Mantella for their terrible new space game. I can always enquire for you though

It certainly is, I don't even do quests anymore. My whole game is just causing shenanigans with the AI. As Boomer says, jump on the mantella discord. They're super helpful if you have issues. I plan on making a tutorial on xTTS which is a different method.

This method still works, the config.ini is all that's changed. Also, the API is now openrouter not openai. And it's free, you don't pay for the current LLM. A lot of people are still using this guide and thanking me for it. Either way, an update to the mod is upcoming and when it does I'll be making full guides for Fo4 and Skyrim and the method will changem

Hey, I really want to remake Skyrim Mantella as it's out of date as well as Fo4 but the devs are working on a new version with HTTP implementation which will change and simplify the install process. I've been talking to the devs and it looks like it shouldn't be much longer, once it's out I will make guides for Skyrim, Fo4 and then xTTS. I don't want to make the xTTS guide if it's all going to change!

Hey man I got a question. Mantella changes the way the LLM behaves? So technically you can put any key from any model, even if it's not trained on fallout, and still get good results? You should do a tutorial for fully uncensored local models. That would be absolutely amazing. Thank you for your work and your content, it was very helpful!

Hey, appreciate the comment man. Yes you can use any LLM. You can use all the openrouter ones. Infact since making this tutorial Mantella has moved from OpenAI to Openrouter as standard however all LLMs can be used including Kobold and local uncensored ones. Check my video on how to change LLMs. I made it a month or two ago. Just bare in mind the config.ini has changed since then, Mantella is a constantly changing and improving project. 😊

I know how to have an uncensored LLM in my own computer, but I'm unsure how to point mantella to it. I have a good PC and an uncensored model inside it is the best. Need a bit of advice when adding the voices to xVA Synth. I don't have nexus premium so I installed all the voice files individually. I'm not sure how to add them in. Hey, thanks for the compliment 😊 you need to create a folder in the models page called fallout 4 and add the actual files directly there. You can manually download them one by one, torrent them or use premium. If you get stuck, jump on my Discord and I'll walk you through it. I also made the same video for Skyrim 😊

You can torrent them. Or just pay for a month. Or you could even skip XVASYNTH and use xTTS as a voice synthesiser but that makes it local so you'd need good specs

You can't use the same mantella folder as the config.ini points to one game directory / vm path / mod folder. In theory if you had 2 separate mantella folders it would be possible but I've asked the lead dev for you in Discord

Quick question though, I see the point where you edit the ini of Mantella, the "resummarize_prompt" bit at 19:20 I see that in my ini it is set by default to: "These conversations take place in {game}." Wouldn't that mean it actually references the game that we set to Fallout 4 VR in the top of the ini, when we set "game = Fallout4VR"? Wouldn't that mean we don't haver to set "These conversations take place in the Commonwealth"? I' just asking in case there's been an update since you made the tutorial and I want to make sure. Or do I still have to set "the Commonwealth" anyway?

Would be even better, if the Mantella mod wouldn use the CHAT PGT APi. Instead they could use the Api of other better language models which also dont have restrictions and free speech. The main Problem aboput chatgpt is, that is way to strongly regulated. It cannot differentiate between an act, just a game, or our real life. So it will always follow the rules of chat gpt general restrictions to violence behaviour. So no npc could have all variations of differen psychological profiles, if there are even such thing (would be nice). But it could be integrated but it isnt supported by chatgpt, because chatgpt isnt free and can write dark stories. But there are language ais which are really good at it, because they are specifically made to help authors writing their books. It is an amazing creative ai. Claude 3 should be very great right now. Maybe it is worth a try, they just recently changed their pricing and also give a 20 bucks flatrate. But some people said it would be cheaper to pay for each api request. Idk what is cheaper. Maybe it would be worth a try. I have to check if Mantella Mod is open Source, maybe I could do it myself.

Did you watch the video? Mantella does not use Chat GPT it uses a free openrouter model called Toppyaifree. Furthermore you can change the API to any provider you want, including local or unregulated ones. You just change the API directory in the config and the LLM in the config.

Do the most ai apis use the same routes and query params for their api? I dont have a local model. Are there good models you know about, I could download? Implenting claude is actually not that easy in my country, because it is blocked. I would need a vpn. But i still hope I can get it run somehow.

Mine says that too, Mantella detects when it's in x86. Ideally it's best to not install it there but I've never had any issues with it. What's happening when you're trying to run it?

The follow feature is experimental at this moment in Skyrim. I'm unsure if it's even available in Fallout. Have you checked your holodeck for an option that says follow? The "follow me" command is for Skyrims MCM, haven't tried it with fallout yet. It may be (like it is in skyrim) that only certain NPCs can follow you. This is all very very new tech and being worked on more as we speak.

Hi there, yes at the moment the mod requires all of the DLC files from flatscreen fallout 4 to work. It's worth it though because the DLCs add hundreds of hours of extra game play content and you can literally transfer them to VR (something Bethesda never did!)

No, fallout 4 and skyrim both have different directories in the models within XVASynth. One is called Skyrim and one is called Fallout 4

So you've got two Mantella downloads, one is the actual software which runs the console seperate to the game and you have the mod itself. Make sure both have been downloaded. Also you don't need the gun in the latest build (but I think it's still included) you push a hot key (I think H) but I may be wrong, I still use the old build.

Yes without premium you have to download the voice packs manually as shown in the video. It's a long process but I've shown 3 methods you can use

You don't have to download all voices no. But you can still torrent it, it's much easier. If not then just the ones you want.

Hi, you can totally download only the voices you plan to use. However I recommend you still download the following models "Piper”, “MaleEvenToned”, “MaleBoston” & “FemaleBoston" because Mantella needs those to correctly load some of the older models.

The only difference between vr and non vr is the 3 files you download from the github, the F4SE you download from silverlock and the lines you edit in config. And in each section I say, if you're not playing VR do this. It can't really be more clear. Bethesda are releasing a huge overhaul today which will likely break all mods until silverlock update F4SE. So If you're playing flatscreen your moment may have passed I'm afraid. Unless if you lock updates right now, or if its too late try a rollback.

Hi there, no you don't. There are a few you will need (ghoul generic) (male generic) etc but other than that out of the main characters you can pick and choose. If you're worried about space you could avoid XVA and use xTTS however you will need a strong rig to run it locally, like a 4080 upwards. It uses one voice model and synthesises every character from that. It's pretty cool.

Hey so i got to around 16 minutes in and i launched xVA Synth and noticed none of the voice files are showing up in the client. I installed them all manually through nexus without the premium. Any idea's where ive gone wrong? Ive followed everything else to the T and kept it all in the same drive aswell

Have a look in your options tab in XVAsynth and make sure your vm folders are pointing to the fallout4 folder we made earlier. Also make sure the vms are in the fallout4 folder, and not in folders of their own inside the fallout4 folder. The way you receive the vms is in a folder within a folder. It's a pain I'm the butt.

Never tried it to be honest. There may be conflictions but I don't think so. You'll just have to add the required mods to the modlist or mod folder Wabbajack used.

I have a guide on my channel called how to fix mods for Fallout4. It uses a downgrader. Downgrade using the batch feature and copy the DLCs across. Do not run the game or allow updates after downgrading, so disable automatic updates until you've copied all 32 files over.

This guide is actually fairly simple once you get the idea. I play Mantella with MG overhaul and xTTS with a POD server and edited character sheets. Now that's a complicated one. But check my latest video, it's not doing too great as it's not a tutorial it's more of an entertainment / demonstration. But I managed to get every NPC in diamond city to hate me lol

Well I had to disable file protection temporarily until it downloaded I extracted it and turned it back on once extracted with no issues. I have to ask for a better tutorial with the OpenAI router website because I was lost trying to find the toppy model, I didn’t even know how to install it. Is there a specific spot you’re supposed to copy and paste?

You don't install it. The config.ini comes with it already installed. I show you exactly what you need to get started. If you follow each step, it will work. As always if you get stuck you can jump on my Discord and ask.

Hi, no. If you downloaded the VMs manually then you should see see them, you'll have to put them in the correct folder. I show how this is done in the tutorial.

If you still can't see them you can manually set the VM folder path in XVAs options. Just make sure they have been extracted.

I always recommend a fresh install. It may be due to being installed in programme files. If you can move it to a different folder that's not within programme files it's good.

I This guide is great. I spent the whole day on this. The magnet link doesn't work for me, so I downloaded the models manually from Nexus. The openrouter website looks different than yours and there is no key generation option. I got around this problem by adding "/keys" to the address. Finally, after starting the game, Mantell's gun appears before my eyes and I can take it by clicking. After clicking this, the game turns off. Many things could have gone wrong along the way, and I also have other mods installed and I was hoping for a miracle that the game wouldn't fall apart. Well, it fell apart. If anyone has already solved this type of problem, please let me know here. EDIT: I installed the Insignificant Object Remover mod and loaded the game from an earlier save. The game works but I haven't checked the AI ​​yet.

By keys do you mean secret key? If so you need to generate one regardless of the fact the mod uses a free LLM. Make sure you're going to openrouter and not open.ai. Two different websites. I've been there from your link and from google search (tried few different keywords) and finally encountered the same problem, missing options at the top right (browse, rankings, docs etc). I have some plugins in my chrome so maybe those mess up and hide it. As I wrote, I managed to solve it (before I even thought about using a different browser). At the moment, the game crashes every now and then, it's possible that the graphics card (GTX 3060ti 8GB) or the RAM (16GB) can't handle it. I'll throw out other mods and see. I haven't checked the conversations with the NPCs yet because I'm visiting raiders and Dogmeat doesn't seem very talkative. EDIT: I removed some mods and I can talk to NPCs, but at the moment I can't end the conversation with them. I wonder if it is possible to set a language other than English.

This is why your game isn't working. Bethesda did a big update because of the TV show and it broke all mods. I have a video on how to downgrade everything on flatscreen. Downgrade it, move the DLC and make sure not to run or autoupdate flstscreen.

This no longer works when using the Next Gen version. You need to downgrade the game using another set of mods. Hopefully you can create an updated video. Edit: It's just one mod.
