the good news is, you can go to any Portuguese speaking country in the world and eat feijoada. it comes in many different variations. the Brazilian is obviously the most popular variant, but there's many others

Feijoada actually has it's origins in Northern Portugal. as it can be found all over the Portuguese speaking world, in different variations thanks to their former colonial empire. the Brazilian feijoada is one such variation.

What did you say you can’t find collard greens in the United States? I must say collard greeens are a huge part of American cuisine and they are all over !! But anyways Brazilian Feijuada is beyond amazing and it really hits home during Sunday dinner when friends and family come over !!

Hey hey!!! I’m not in the United States!!! I’m in Amsterdam, Netherlands:) I’m not sure if I mentioned in this video, (oh no!!)!! Yes!!! Collard greens are all over!! One thing that I missed living in NYC is being able to cook and find Brazilian food and ingredients easily!! Thank you for watching and I’m glad you enjoy feijoada almost as much as I do!! ;)

Sorry, but there is no historical evidences that feijoada origins was in slavery. The feijoada is a local variation of a stew Portuguese with white beans, and of the cassoulet (French dish), from the 16th and 17th centuries. Whatever, your feijoada looks delicious.
@veronicawilliams9275Ай бұрын
i dont think she’s saying it was from slavery, but commonly eaten by slaves. yes the origins you mentioned are true but the version made in brazil was ‘revamped’ by enslaved people using more accessible ingredients.
