Nice one thank you, I need one badly I can see it's not that difficult to do.

That 😃🍻 Yeah, just do it 😊 It’s not that compplicated and even more easy if you use Inkbird 😊

Looks really easy indeed! I assume you set the temperature controller of the fridge to maximum cooling?
@Beerstories3 ай бұрын
Thanks, it is easy 😊 Yes, set the fridge to max 😊

nice i was going to go this route but went with a small chest freezer because i plan on eventually makining a keezer out of it

Cool, I Had a chest freezer before, but I got suckback everytime I lifted the fermenter out of it. That's why I made this, because I can bottle and keg without moving it :)

Nice video. Don’t you think that temperature controller which set to 19C can damage cooling system inside the fridge (compressor.. etc)? I am afraid that the fridge is designed to maintain temperature like 5-10C. Do you use any delay to start cooling in your stc-1000? Thanks!
@Beerstories2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mikhail! Good question... I have set 3min delay in te STC-1000 to protect the compressor. I have used mine for about 2 years and haven't had any problems.

Where exactly is that heating element placed? You mention it but cannot see it.
@Beerstories Жыл бұрын
I just twirl it around in the fridge. Up above the fermenter and down under. Not directly on the side, becuase it will give direct heat to the beer and that is probably not good.

Couldnt understand it. Whats the name of the product you're referring to as heating element ? Is it a belt, mat or bulb (ceramic or some other) ? Can it raise the temp to say 30-35 degrees C for Kveik ?
@Beerstories Жыл бұрын
It's a heating cable for reptiles. They can withstand being turned on 24/7 365 days a year. They are build for it... Yes, mine can raise the temp to 35 deg C.

@@Beerstories have you had issues with hot spots in your fermentation? Thanks for the reply. A link to the product would be handy though.
@Beerstories Жыл бұрын
@@vikasrana7702 No, I haven't :) The only links I can find is from Denmark. But heat pads for reptiles should be the same. They are easy to find online or at the petshop :)

No ventilation needed?
@Beerstories2 жыл бұрын
You could easily add that, but I think it’s overkill 😊 But it would be easy to add a computer fan to the heater and let it turn on together…

Can you see this link: my.brewbrain.nl/brew/show/22779 I use a Float to measure temp inside of the beer. The ferm chamber is set to 19degC and it's only during high krausen that the temp rises to 19.6 degC instead of 19.1-19.2degC. I'm not sure that ventillation makes it more accurate than that :) As you Can see it starts at a higher temp just when I put the beer in the chamber. Then is cools down to 19deC and sits there until I rose the temp to 20degC and then another rise after that to let the yeast clean up. So that's why I don't really think, I need ventilation :)

I make probiotic drinks (non alcoholic) using a ginger bug. Why not just an insulted box with a incandescent light bulb with vents to control the heat in the chamber and a thermometer. That's what I'm thinking of dong since I live in Canada and turn down my heat in the winter to 65 deg F because of money. what do you think ? don't have a bunch of money to buy fancy electronics.
@Beerstories Жыл бұрын
If the light bulb gives enough heat, it should be fine. But the electronics I use is not very expensive, though.
