I wash my ferrets blankets with water or newborn sensitive detergent and clean there litter box every day and bath them once a year or if they made and accidents and I use a humidifier with out the sent and it helps clean the air

I've had 12, yes they all had a smell & they all smelled a bit different. Some smelled like food like maple syrup, fritos, nacho doritos & popcorn. I use lavender sacks in the dryer instead of dryer sheets & had 2 that liked to steal the sack & sleep with them (both females), they smelled great. Had a few that were quite stinky & oddly enough they tended to be the most snuggly. Had 2 that had intact scent glands & they really didn't smell much unless they wanted to. Every time I have had more than 1 I have been able to tell which one is lurking by the smell. I actually like the way they smell & compared to some foods people eat it is not bad at all.

Your videos have really been helping me out- I still live with my mom so she won’t let me get a ferret or two- Since she thinks they stink- But I don’t think so. 😊 But your information, tutorials, and educational videos have taught me what to do and what I should be expecting on when I do decide too get a ferret. Though I will only get one when I know I am completely ready- I just want you too know- Thank you! clean it once a day, maybe twice depending on how much waste in the litter box. Cleaning any fleece bedding on the same level as their litter box or food and cleaning hammocks and other fleeces maybe monthly will probably help too.

They don’t need any shampoos or conditioners no soaps of any kind! That’s what makes them smell worse and damages their skin! She literally said that. You just use water and they only should be bathed 0-2 times a year

You should quarantine the new ferret for a couple of days in a separate cage/space to make sure they aren't ill. Afterwards let them get to smell each other with a barrier between them, like putting them in a cage and carrier next to each other or similar idea. afterwards letting them interact freely while supervised to make sure they dont hurt each other and once they seem to be getting along well you should be good. sorry im not sure about specific amounts of time for each step!
