The best way to make feta cheese at home, is with lemon and yogurt, she made with vinegar and in the end she did not washed with cold clean water, to take the bad vinegar smell also kills the bacteria with salt. Like this the feta cheese creates worms

Hi Hedyeh, Thank you so much for this recipe. I have been looking for a Iranian Feta recipe for quite a long time and I am glad you shared your video. I had to modify the quantity a little as I used 1800g of milk and 80 g of greek yogurt. Therefore I changed to 1/4 cup of cider vinegar and 1/2 lemon. it is resting now. I see you keep it after in the brine in the fridge. Do you think I could keep it in oil (half olive and half colza) ? with herbs ?

Couple quick questions please as I'm going to try this out. 1- how long does it take for the cheese to gain that typical feta salty flavor all threw the cheese in the salty brine? 2- how long once it's all completed is this healthy in the frodge?

Thanks for watching! 🙏 ❤️ I didn't put much salt in it because I don't like it that salty but more salt added to the liquid, longer you can store it for. I use up to 7-10 days. and I would say leave it in the salt water in the fridge for at least 6 hours to soak all that salt water. I have never added salt while boiling, maybe that could be a thing too if you want it very salty! Sorry hope that was helpful. 😊

That’s amazing! I will be making this SOON! I am also going to try freeze drying it. Is it okay to substitute yogurt with kefir?

Sorry for the late reply and I do not know anything about Kefir, I would suggest googling to see anyone make it with Kefir. 🙏

Love the easiness of this recipe. I’m wondering if white vinegar could be used instead of apple cider vinegar….?

Thanks for watching! 🙏 ❤️ I have never done it but google says you can! maybe have some apple cider vinegar on the side, if it doesn't start to mass you can use it but should be fine. 😊 Let me know the result if you do use white vinegar!

Can i make creamy feta dressing for my salad with it??

Hi There, sorry I don't know the answer to that but I do put it on my salad. To make it creamier I can suggest not to wrap it very hard so the cheese could be a bit looser.

LOL because I had to adjust my camera higher so that my phone wouldn't heat up and die in the middle of my taping and I frequently had to climb the chair, put my foot on the counter for stability and check if my phone was still recording and somehow I forgot to cut that out! This was the third time taping the video due to phone heat up! I'm learning haha and thanks for watching!
