How to make Foam Shoulder Armor (Zack Fair Edition)

In this video I show you how Iwood Make: Zack's Shoulder pad from Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core.
This is a very basic and simply video on how to make almost any shoulder pad. If you want to get started, the patterns to make these are on my shop. All these patterns are drawn by me.

Materials:
1/2 EVA Foam
Black Sharpie
Chip Brush
Contact Cement
Steel Ruler
Snap blade knife (AKA box cutter)
Heat Gun

Does that contact cement really hold the seam together just like that after 1 coat on each each and simply pressing them together?

nice work. how do you clean your contact cement brush?

I don't usually clean them as it's nearly unusable after being dipped in contact cement. I have found that dipping them in lacquer thinner keeps the bristles quasi-reusable

Hey! I love your stuff! If you don't mind me asking, I saw that you said on Etsy that the pauldrons are held on by magnets, I was wondering where those magnets are housed and how that works? Are the other magnets in the harness for the belt?

Hi there, To attach the pauldron to the shoulder straps I use neodymium magnets (you can pick up a set of 3 at home depot--they sell them in odd numbers...) and hot glue them to the underside of the pauldron. Once the hot glue is cooled I position the pauldron on the strap and use corresponding magnet to sandwhich the pauldron and the strap together. I mark the position of the magnet on the strap and then hot glue that in position. I hope this makes sense. I can make a follow up video to show the process.

one is shorter than the other and the curve is a little different. but you can use this pattern and mod it as you like
