The only step I added was before priming it, I immersed it in hot water to soften it and reshape it to more the part 3 shape, then ran cold water to freeze it into place. By default these masks are too egg-shaped with a pointy chin which probably works for a part 6 version. Again, thank you and keep up the great work!

SO GLAD I looked at this older video of yours. I kept wondering what those things were you put over the metal buttons... BALLOONS! Of course! Brilliant! The only other thing out of all the stages I have 100% figured out how to do are the chevrons...and that is because I work as a graphic designer for a company that - among other things - make signs. Which means I can actually make the kind of chevrons you buy...as many as I want! That's one down, everything else to go! 😀

Have some advice for blood effect. For fully dried blood I use a cheap bottle of Tuscan Red from the cheap acrylic section at Walmart. Also will water it down a little for some projects and sling the paint on it. Definitely creates some awesome spatter effects.

I searched and found the color stated as camel. That being said, I am going to use it with some buttercup mixed in to see if I can get the color that I want. Fortunately I have an airbrush, so I can escape from having brush strokes.

Blaze T I know it’s been awhile but how did that color combo work out for you???
@loganhundley7158 жыл бұрын
Back when I did mine, I started out with almond. And through weathering brought it up to the tannish yellow. Then took alittle acetone on a rag and rubbed the weathering back down to the almond base coat. Gives great results. For a runny fresh blood paint. You should look in to getting some tamiya transparent red. Sold at most hobby shops. Stuff it amazing

So here is what I think the mask timeline is for Jason's mask. Part 3 and 4 are the same le duh. Part 5 is homemade by Roy. Part 6 and 7 are the same mask but also are the same as Part 3 and 4. Jason lost his mask at the end of Part 4 and would be buried without it, hence why Tommy has is in the beginning of Part 6. Part 8 is probably a mask made by people who find the Jason story to be interesting and wanted to make a mask based off him, hence why the chevrons are a bit different and why the axe cut is there. Part 9 is a bit harder to determine. Personally, i like to think Part 9 is more or less a dream, the whole body swapping and nonsense in the movie seems very dream like. The only thing that would be real is Freddy dragging down Jason's mask. FvJ is real and after that battle, Jason would need a new mask and gets one prior to 2008, when he is captured. Jason's mask in Jason X is a new mask but the whole cryofreezing and waking up in the future seems like a dream. Personally, Jason escapes after killing that girl that tried to freeze him and he returns to the woods where his killings are less common as less people go camping near his area.

I’ve had trouble in the uk getting a good paint. I found an almond by rust oleum but I quite like non 94 bone white it’s a good colour and when weathered can get the desired look. I think it the lighting that makes the white mask yellowish.
@FatigueBeast8 жыл бұрын
I consider you the king of Jason masks man lol. Great idea too using the primer for wear and tear and weathering, I wish I thought of it doing my Part 3. I also didn't like the way mine come out with the almond color. It was nice at first until I started the weathering. I think the color you used was perfect so I'll definitely look for that color or something similar. I really need to order the cheap blanks tho. I'm just really impatient waiting 2-4 weeks for them to come from China lol. So I got a JDF Part 3 and just bought a JDF part 4. I'll definitely get the cheaper blanks tho while I'm painting my part 4. Thanks for the tips dude, I love your videos!
@BigHush8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I was lucky to see some mentions about the proper color for these masks prior to doing them, otherwise I was going to use Almond again too. I enjoy using the cheap blanks, but I wish I could use JDF all the time. I love the quality of the material and accuracy of those. I haven't played with warping these masks yet either, since I don't have a gas stove or a heat gun to do it with. That would be the next step to try in screen-accurate shapes. Thanks for watching!
