Growing up Italian we know the difference between eating them fried before they get simmered in sauce, and the way most people think of them...cooked in sauce. I love them both ways, but wow how nice to have them just plain fried with a dash of the cooking oil & drippings over them on Italian bread. My grown kids still come home asking for a fried meatballs and a green salad with oil and vinegar for dinner. It makes me happy to do it :)
@tenebrisrex3337 жыл бұрын
Truth but I actually prefer the slow cook in the gravy. The fry toughens the meatballs so they don't get any of that beautiful tomato mix. I might make them fried if it's a dish that stands alone. Looks beautiful though, mangia!

Clemenza, that was great...thanks for the video...you're such a good Italian chef!!! I always fry my meatballs in olive oil and they come out great. i also use chopped onion in mine too. Lately I started using Panko bread crumbs and wet bread and they come out great...not too dry and not too moist. I sometimes used bread crumbs alone just to change it up, but they were a little dry but not bad (used less). Thanks again chef...

In all fairness, he is probably a restaurant owner who spends 10-12 hours a day on his feet. There is no time for a health club membership. No energy left for a walk after dinner. It’s a hard life.
