WOW!!! I've heard this from people before!!! It's so sad!!! I was 7 eating steak & lobster. My parents would never have deprived me of food because it was for "adults." I understand the need to be on a budget & save money, it just always sounds sad to me to feed kids hot dogs while adults eat steak.

Dredging in buttermilk first makes all the difference. If you don't have buttermilk, not to worry. Just use one cup whole milk and add 1 teaspoon white vinegar or lemon juice-mix well, set aside a few minutes until it bubbles and thickens and carry on.
