I appreciate your point about "acquaintance" and "friend." However, do you think we need to surround ourselves with friends who have good habits and personalities? Because, you know, I think we can still be affected by the people we surround ourselves with.

Well if for example one of your friends goes drinking and invited you to go with him, you don't have to. The point is if you're on your own path you don't have to do what your degenerate friends are doing and you won't be affected by them.
