sick video man! defo trying this. one thing I notice sammy always does is have his rhythms start at different times. Some melodies will start a bar earlier than the chords but somehow still always work.

Great vid! Where are the drums from?
@willmoller Жыл бұрын
they're just loads of random samples from splice - just searched through funk and came across random samples i liked
@numenxxii2417 Жыл бұрын
Insane. First of where are the drums from? Second of how do you make your chords sound so jazzy?
@willmoller Жыл бұрын
The drums are just random samples from splice, and the chords sound jazzy because they're all minor9 and major9 chords. If you don't know what that is, it's just the simple triad chords with the 7th and 9th note of the scale (after the root note of the chord) on top 🙌

@@willmollerThanks! One more question. I’ve been wanting to witch to a new daw for a while (from fl). I noticed in your earlier videos that you used fl studios and my question is really, what made you witch to this new daw?😊
@willmoller Жыл бұрын
@@numenxxii2417 Yeah so i didn't really switch then - I've used bitwig for a few years now (i just used both fl and bitwig a few months ago because I felt like it haha). I switched to bitwig from FL, because FL was way too unorganized and messy. It's cool to get down ideas but when things got complicated I always got overwhelmed. Besides it crashes so often haha. Bitwig doesn't crash ever - and if it does or you force close it, when you open it up it opens where you left off. I heard about Bitwig and i just loved the workflow, so I switched ;)

@willmoller Жыл бұрын
@@jaswantatalukdar08 pick a DAW and just mess around in it, while trying to copy the songs and sounds you like to improve. download free samples on the internet and use youtube to learn - if you want to spend money you can buy plugins, sample packs, courses etc. as well

@@willmoller what about music theory?
@MRGO0OSE11 ай бұрын
Don't sweat it in the beginning or at all. I recommend copying chords from tutorials and learning as much or as little as you want from music education channels on YT. If its something you want to learn about it will come to you over time. Over the last 5ish yrs I've learned good song ideas come from great feeling, not fancy chords or plugins. Thats why deconstructing good songs is valuable b/c you get to see what makes that good feeling @@jaswantatalukdar08
