I decided for this video I would experiment with a Guar Gum based Giant Bubble recipe after many requests over the last year. It seems to work very well! On par at least with the J-Lube based recipe that I used in this video: • How to Make Giant Bubbles That is also the video to watch if you would like to learn how to make the giant bubble nets.
The best dish soap for bubbles is up for debate, but generally Dawn Platinum Power Clean is seen as one of the best. I also like Dawn's hypoalergenic dish soap which seems to work nearly as well and can be easier to find in stores. Anything labeled as a concentrate of '2x' is typically not very good.
Giant bubbles will work best in high humidity and in cool air, so mornings and late afternoons will give the best results. The middle of the night can also give great results, and the colors created in the bubbles by artificial lights are quite interesting as can be seen in this video: • Giant Soap Bubbles at ...

I’m in San Diego using your recipe with Seventh Generation dish soap, j-lube & baking power though I increased the baking powder another tablespoon to 4. On the beach when the winds were about 3-5 mph, the bubbles went often about 1/2 to 3/4 mile before bursting!!! Very impressive! I’m trying to determine the perfect amount of wind… seems anything above 8kts is too much!

tried the first recipe it worked pretty well tried the guar gum recipe it was ok but seemed to work better when I mixed the two batches. just made the original recipe and added two teaspoons of guar gum a little more (2 oz) of soap and tripled the baking powder..... it's 10:43 pm trying not to go outside and see how it works. either way this was a blast.

I found that if you sift the guar gum with a wire strainer into the dish soap a little at a time while stirring it, it will mix in much better and much faster than if you just dump it all in at once.

I added some glow stick solution to my bubble juice. The bucket of juice was definitely glowing, but I think the bubble walls are too thin to see any of the glow. They were just normal bubbles. (And, yes, I did do this at night.) If anyone has better results, please comment :)

Hi, have been creating giant bubbles for a couple of years. Love them! Recently had a major set back - first failure!!! We have had a heat wave in UK, with temperatures up to 30C/86F. Some big (not giant) bubbles formed on the strings, then instantly popped. I use Fairy Platinum liquid, J-Lube, baking powder & water (no dragon spit!). PLEASE ADVISE. Thanks.

*@NightHawkInLight* Maybe you can add some kind of heating just in front of the bubble-ropes, so the air in the bubbles are slightly hotter & makes them rise up, instead of popping on a grass straw. Maybe like a thin copper coil that's short-circuit to a battery? ( *But first* research any explosion risks by short-circuiting the battery type you will be using ).

So what's your opinion? Do you like the J-Lube recipe or the Guar Gum better? Videos alone can't really tell us as we don't know what the humidity was between the two. Since I'm writing you, thank you so much for your first tutorial, since watching it I've been obsessed. I've been doing my own Giant Bubbling since August of this year and the meditative experience and the fun has enriched my life and brought a lot of joy to many I've surprised in my community's parks.

Ooooo I'm new to your channel and I'm so happy it was recommended. ^_^ I'm unable to get my bubbles to form, or when they do, they don't leave the rope net (I have one wand with nylon rope and one with cotton (without the inside removed). I'll try your bubble recipe! The one I'm using has glycerin, cornstarch, baking powder, dawn, and water. Is the link to making the net bubble wand that soap wiki page, or do you have a video showing us how? Thank you so much! Looking forward to learning!
@Nighthawkinlight
@Nighthawkinlight 4 жыл бұрын
This mix will work much better for you than the one you've mentioned. The bubble net is made the same as a normal loop, you just tie other strings across it.
@Nighthawkinlight
@Nighthawkinlight 4 жыл бұрын
Doesn't matter how long. You should keep the tips of the pole together so the loop is closed until you pull it all the way out of the solution, then you can open it up. Otherwise the bubble can pop on the edge of the bin

Thank you for your time and help!
