It’s better to add a couple fresh ginger root slices into the tea to offset coldness of ginseng. For bitterness, add red dates or stir in some honey after cooking.

Most herbals would not cook ginseng in a metal pot, that why there’s “ ceramic ginseng cookers”, . I enjoyed the presentation thank you 😊

Very interesting, I didn’t know that you could eat ginseng. 😅I have a plant like this at home. Does it have to be a particular kind or how do you choose? Also where do you find it?

Hi! Do you know if I could apply the same technique for preparing a tea from ginseng dried flowers? I've bought a packet of these the other day but actually didn't check out how to use them. Thanks in advance!
@hellolisalin Жыл бұрын
Oh, I've never seen ginseng dried flowers before! I'd imagine it can be cooked in a similar way but for a shorter period (maybe 20 minutes?) because the flowers are more delicate.

What does Mama Lin mean when she says it can be too “cold” for people with weakened immune systems?
@hellolisalin2 жыл бұрын
Great question, Marta! It's part of the philosophy behind traditional Chinese medicine. In TCM, you try to strive for a balance between hot and cold (yang/yin) energy within the body. So when my mom is basically saying if you are feeling weak, the ginseng might be giving too much "yin" so you need to add something to the tea to balance out the energy. I hope this makes sense. I should caveat this by saying I'm not a TCM expert, but this is my understanding based on what I grew up with + my reading.

Can I chew and eat the remaining Ginseng available on pot? or just drink the water, not eat Ginseng's body?
@hellolisalin2 жыл бұрын
Typically, I just drink the tea. Technically, you can eat the root, but I don't. I just don't like the texture.

I'll pass. After living in Korea, I know the best gingseng. Americans should accept that Asians own gingseng and have better quality one. How about importing it from them 🤔 Otherwise good video...but for American gingseng. 🙄 iknow they need alternatives, I understand Love you mama 🇺🇬🇺🇬💕

actually the chinese people absolutley love american ginseng and TCM recongnizes it for its amazing healing properties and are willing to pay alot of money for the mature wild grown roots. this is due to the different kinds of ginseng and the properties/ benefits associated with each . so in other words you are a frickin idiot
