Thank You for posting this tutorial, I'm a home nail art person I only do my own nails and making my own glitters was intriging to me. I bought all the products listed and loved the way the glitters came out. Although I find that I need to stir my homemade glitters before using them, they are very thick and don't spread well. I watch what is relevant to me as a non pro nail tech and find you vids helpful. I also do stampimg nail art and love to watch stampimg videos. Thanks.

Me, too chunky glitter always looks cluttered, that's why I prefer to place them sparingly on top of the fine glitter and don't put them in a mix. Tfw

To soften gel you can put it in a small bowl of warm water for about a minute just enough water to where it doesn't float, or microwave for 3 seconds. It really helps I love your videos, cant wait to try this out than you!!

DaWanda those jars can be found fairly easily if you search for places that sell cosmetic jars instead of searching for nail products. I only say this because I searched and searched for them using nail products as my basic search and after a lot of time I figured out that they are available in abundance of you search with cosmetics in mind. please know I'm just trying to help not trying to come across as a know it all. I always read the comments because they provide a wealth of information and others experiences have helped me immensely. i also love that you say "tinch" I say that too and everyone is always saying what is a tinch??? You're speaking my language, I just love making glitter gels. I remember how bad I wanted light elegance glitter gels and making your own is so much better! You have taught me some things with how to use my pigments too, so thank you! I started out mixing my gels and colors with Ibd too, I may try Ibd gel again. I mix some with madam glam top coat before I polish it on now I'm trying Akzentz.

Your IBD Clear gel, I LOVE this consistency! Can I use a plastic form to form the nail with this IBD Gel?? I tried Rossi PolyGel for Nail but it was so hard, I had difficulties to have some from the tube! Imagine the pleasure of trying to put it on form!!

Hi, It’s depends on the consistency of the mixes. If there’s more glitter then gel, it doesn’t. If there’s more gel then glitter it does separate. Tfw & take care

Prep the nail removing all dead skin and debris, apply a dehydrator, and then a primer 2x, then start building with the gel. Now some gels come with a 2 step system for adhesion like a base step 1 and then a builder Gel step 2, but you still want to prep, dehydrate, prime will keep the nail from lifting, which mean the gel adhere to the nail after curing in a led/uv lamp. I wouldn’t use gel thinner, but the same company sells a loose gel that is a soak off gel by IBD, which those kind of gels are always thinner consistency. You can also use to make a gel polish line, too. Tfw & take care

I do mid the glitter and the gel and leave them on small empty gel jars, but I find that the glitter separates from the colour. So I basically end up with dull silver glitter at the bottom of the jar and coloured gel on top. Hope my description makes sense. Any tips on that?

The glitter isn’t a solvent/stable like the ones they use in beauty products/polishes. Most craft store glitters aren’t high grade glitters that are made for or to last in a liquid. Non solvent/unstable Glitters loses their color and they are heavier, not compatible to bond together. I hope my info helped you understand the problem you are having. Tfw & take care

It depends on the quality of the glitter, not all craft glitter made to be submerged. Recollection or Martha Stewart are great to use in dry mixes, and cosmetic grade glitter for liquid mixes they won't bleed. Hope this help, Tfw.

I've been wanting to diy my owl glitter gel that looks like Sophia by Light elegence. Does anyone know what glitter mixes I should use?

Sophia is very pretty with a semi mix of the small, medium, chunky darker champagne base and very very little sparkle of the chuncky blues, purples, pinks. It doesn’t matter what brand, it’s the ratio to achieve that color mix. Very hard to replicate without a formula, put you can get close. Tfw

No they are plain colored hex, no holo, unfortunately. I would go to Michaels, or hobby lobby.finding that dark champagne will be hard, I always see the light champagne glitter, you might hunt that down on the internet, 😅
