Mine always come out the laminator with black patches from where the foil hasn’t stuck. Do you know why this is? I place the card and foil inside a folded A4 sheet of paper before running it though

I'm using this same method with a holofrapgic foil... but after like 24 hours I get little blotchy spots in the foil... what could be causing the blotchy spots to show up? When the foil is freshly done it looks perfectly but not long after little blotchy spots start to show through the holo foils? Please help

Are you sure you got the right type of foil? Because if you’re using hot foil instead of reactive foil your problem happens.

So the laser printer is needed for the foil to attach to the writing and NOT the design? Can you explain why you need to use 2 different printers..

The laser powdercreacts to the foil. If you do the whole card with a color laser printer the foil will adhere to everything. By using a inkjet first, the foil will not adhere to inkjet prints.

Because colours were printed on INKJET printed but text on LASER printer

Foil only reacts with toner (laser printer), the coloured section was printed using ink (inkjet printer). Thats why 2 separate printers were used.

Make sure both of them are print in actual and center the pieces so you get the same gaps on both sides. However, different brands’ printers have different borders settings, which many don’t allow you to change it.
