I first found the recipe coming from Australia about 11 years ago when I began giving it to my Border Collie at the age of 10 years old. I looked at her one day and noticed her fur standing straight out and felt down her body and could feel many lumps. I decided to research a few things and came across Golden paste, began giving it to her immediately and within 8 weeks all of the lumps had shrunk and her fur laid flat again. I believe in this product as I have seen it work and my Border Collie continued to have daily doses of Golden Paste up until she left us at the age of 16 years old.

If you have turmeric stains on your countertop, Barkeepers Friend (liquid) works. Put some on the spot and rub with wet paper towel. You will have to do it a few times but it will come out. It’s happened to me a few times on my white stone countertop and it works like a charm.

I make this recipe for my dog who has cancer. He was way outlived his initial prognosis and is absolutely thriving. It's not a cure for cancer, but I truly do believe this has been instrumental in slowing down the growth of the cancer. Also, he used to have a lot of stomach sensitivities his whole life and could never eat treats or basic human food. After starting this daily, 99% of those issues went away. I make it every 2 weeks, store in the fridge. I soak his kibble in it in the AM and feed the "bloated turmeric" kibble to him in the evening and he eats it right up. (We tried fresh food and it just wasn't working for us so we chose to stick with the kibble). So thankful to have found this recipe and stuck with it.

Going to try this for my itchy pup! He’s been on and off apoquel for half a year now and it’s not supposed to be a long term solution. I was thinking of limiting his diet to just his kibble to see if he’s allergic to anything, but I don’t like the idea of him not getting to have his variety of chews like bully sticks and duck necks. Maybe adding golden paste to his diet will help instead of restricting his diet!

Too much differentiation between popular nutrition formulas for canines versus humans - a lot of this stuff is the same and when in doubt look into whether ingredient is potentially toxic to dogs.

Just subscribed and followed on insta 🙂 I have two questions you hopefully could answer: is this suitable for kittens (mine in 6 months) and is organic cold pressed coconut oil okay to use? I read online about hydrogenated vs non-hydrogenated coconut oil and how one isn’t good for cats and I’m in the UK so not sure if cold-pressed is something I can feed my kitten. Thank you!

Do you, or should you, incorporate it slowly? For example, for my 110lbs shepherd, do I start with a small dose (1/2-1tsp) and work up to the full dose? Kind of like introducing new food? Thanks

That’s probably your safest bet! Maybe work up to the full dosage over about two weeks, making sure their poops remain solid before adding any more!

I don’t know if it’s silly to equate things to humans, but I know it’s cautioned to use tumeric in moderation in humans because of its blood thinning capabilities. Is that something to be cautioned with dogs as well?

For dogs on blood thinners turmeric may be a spice you want to stay away from. As a general rule, if you don’t have a fully healthy pet, consider reaching out to a holistic vet before feeding any foods you don’t already feed, as it could mess with their health, especially if they’re on medication. Great question!

How do you get a fussy cat to eat this? I'm also syringe feeding her at the bottom or blending all her wet food as the tumour may be causing a blockage so she can't digest/chew anything. I would have to dilute her dosage with water in the syringe.

Turmeric is not colorfast. Just put your pots and pans in sunlight and the yellow will disappear.

Noooooo omg do not microwave your coconut oil.... The heat from the paste will melt it .. cook the paste till it gets thick .. you don't need this much water because you will have to cook it longer to condense it... Black pepper has to be freshly ground... Look up black seed oil instead though .. I don't use black pepper for anything in my home .. not the greatest ingredient...
