This super easy base granola recipe can be customized in so many different ways and is SO easy to make! If you can measure, pour, stir, and bake - you can make this. Homemade granola can be stored for up to a month in an airtight container at room temperature so it's a great make-ahead breakfast option, especially when you've got lots of kids like I do.
Here's the recipe to make a small, single batch (enough to fill a quart jar):
1/4 cup discard sourdough starter (active sourdough starter is ok too)
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup crisp rice cereal
1/2 cup chopped, raw nuts
2 T sunflower seeds/seeds of choice
