INGREDIENTS LIST:
- Calamari cut into rings or pieces
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying

You really do take the fear out of Greek cooking. Many of the recipes I find are complicated and just don't taste like "home". I have really become excited to try many of your recipes and share them with my four boys so that they too can carry on the traditional dishes that I grew up with. Thanks for another easy to follow recipe. This is going to get added to my Greek themed Superbowl party dishes.

Dear Ken! Hi there! Posiste??I enjoyed watching your fried calamari video,which I will try tomorrow night for dinner!! . Last night,I made some fried smelts which came out deliciously!!! I was also surprised at how inexpensive they were at the supermarket. I enjoyed them together with a nice Greek salad that I had prepared. I think that the only things that I am missing now, are a few shots of Ouzo,or Mitaxis,some great bazouki music, and a few gorgeous Greek young damsels!!!(He,he ,he!!) Keep up the great work Ken....Cheers from New York City!!!Kalinikta!!

You gotta be kidding me.!!:) The only thing good about New York City in my mind is that it makes me have beautiful dreams about island Hopping the Gorgeous Greek Islands when I go to sleep every night!!!(Ha,ha,ha....and that's no joke!!!) In my living room, I have hanging up on my wall a giant size photo of beautiful white painted-Greek houses, overlooking the sea at sunset on the island of Santorini!!This huge photo blesses my apartment!!The sky is pink,purple,orange and the twinkling lights of the white houses are just starting to come on.And in the backdrop is this beautiful expanse of the Greek oceans!!! I can taste that Calamari now buddy!!!Take care Ken and thanx for all of the great culinary videos!!!(p.s...you should'a tasted the smelts I made last night!!!OOOOOweeeeee!!!Kalinikta, Ken!! Looks great. Is there a paricular calamari you get for the frying? Also when frying with olive does flavor change the overall taste?

Thanks Strati!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Any calamari will do as long as it’s not the canned stuff. I use veg. oil but olive oil will make the calamari a bit heavier....

Hi Ken I always chicken out for making calamari. You make it look so easy. I have a question for you did you use fresh or frozen calamari? Where did you purchase your portable stove?

I use frozen calamari Louise. As for the induction cooktop, you can get them just about anywhere. Pretty much any kitchenware store will have them...

Hello Ken. Great recipe! But do you find that when you pour lemon all over the calamari it loses its texture and the batter becomes soggy? I find it better to squeeze the lemon on each bite instead. What's your opinion?

Actually Natalya, whatever works for you is the best way. Although I know exactly what you’re taking about with the sogginess....

@@KensGreekTable Hi Ken. Got another calamari question. Got some tentacles only "frozen". Tried to fry them, bad result, tasted like rubber, impossible to chew. Any advice on how to tenderize them? That's my favorite part of the squid.

I fried mine for 45 sec to 1 min. Frying the Kalamari for 6 min won't it make it chewy?
