MAD MAN The Green tea is always should be a light green colour. The leaves should be young and aged for short time. The bagged Green Tea is always come out dark Orange that is sign the leaves are older and more oxidized and has stems. A Dark Orange Green Tea is not a real Green Tea. A medium quality whole leaf Green tea you can buy from MightyLeaf to 10 dollars for 100 grams of leaves. The highest quality Green Tea you get connections to farmers in China. It can cost more 80-200 dollars for 100 grams of leaves.

This is the same as making black tea in England, except you brew black tea for 2-4 mins and we use water that's just off boiling point. I am swapping to green tea now because I feel like it makes my tummy flatter and it's much more refreshing than black tea :)
@EmreYavuzalp
@EmreYavuzalp 8 жыл бұрын
There isn't really much difference between black and green tea ingredients wise. It is literally the same plant. You can also make black tea with same method they make green tea. It is better that way cuz when you pour too hot water onto black or green water, it will release tanin. Tanin, absorbs some of the minerals, such as iron. So no matter what you don't use boiled water directly. There's same rules when you make coffee, for an example while making a good Turkish coffee you don't boil it to 100 C.

Disagree with the method of only leaving it for a minute to steep. The only thing that is going to achieve is using up the tea much quicker than you need to and wasting it. Steeping a teabag for a minute is barely going to leech any of the goodness into your water. Absolutely no harm in leaving the tea to steep longer. You receive more benefits the only possible downside is it being slightly bitter if you leave it too long. One of the best tips I learned is that you can reuse your tea again so no need to throw away after the first use.Try and get at least two servings from the same tea.

I only have a kettle to boil the water, I assume it wont make a difference, I usually turn the kettle off before the water boils and use the water straight away, it probably the wrong way to do it and yes, does leave a bitter taste which means it is the wrong way but i squirt in lemon to give it flavour.

@yinandyangliving
@yinandyangliving 8 жыл бұрын
+Sara Syed Hello Sara.. Green tea is supposed to be plain. However, if you must have sugar in order to drink green tea, honey is better than white or brown sugar. Try to use good quality raw organic honey. Here's a video about why I created Ying & Yang Living --> kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXuxfn1vq5KafpI. If you like my channel, please subscribe!

My loose leaf green tea comes out bitter? Is my water too hot or am I steeling to long 30 seconds? The only way I've found to rectify is my putting in a cup of hot water, brew for 20 seconds, toss out water and brew a second time for 30 seconds.

Thanks yingandyangliving most of the time the green tea I used to make would turn bitter and impossible to drink, so I had to add a bit of sugar. Maybe me keeping the tea bag in for 2 minutes was the problem. When I left it in for one min, it tasted just about ok.....so maybe thats where I was going wrong
@yinandyangliving
@yinandyangliving 9 жыл бұрын
yes, green tea when it's steeped too long starts to get bitter and if the temperature is too hot when you pour the water also makes it sour. Green tea should taste delicate, so perhaps this taste is not to your liking. I think you have to get used to the delicate nature of green tea.

hii...i wanted to ask why is there a difference between in color between green tea prepared with tea bags and green tea prepared with leaves??
@yinandyangliving
@yinandyangliving 9 жыл бұрын
+hemant periwal the color comes from how the tea is processed, so tea leaves can be different colors as well. In my case, the tea leaves were roasted, which is why it's a darker color.
