How To Make Surti Locho At Home | Surat Famous Locho Recipe | Street Style Surat Locho | आसान लोचा रेसिपी | Chef Ajay Chopra

Cooking time: 30 mins
Calories: 340 kcal per portion
Ingredients
Chana dal soaked 1 ½ cup
Urad dal soaked ¼ cup
Poha ¼ cup
Curd 2 tbsp
Water as required
Green chilli 2 pcs
Ginger ½ inch
Salt ½ tbsp
Hing 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Oil for greasing the tray
Ghee 1 tbsp
Sev for garnish
Coriander chopped for garnish
Onion chopped for garnish
Locho masala
Salt 1 tsp
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Red chilli powder ½ tbsp
Chaat masala ½ tbsp
Jeera powder 1 tsp
Locho chutney
Coriander a handful
Mint leaves ¼ cup
Green chilli 2 pcs
Ginger ½ inch
Salt 1 tsp
Lemon juice ½ pc
Jeera powder 1 tsp
Sutti locho 2 tbsp
Water as required
Method
Locho masala
Take salt, black pepper powder, red chilli powder, chaat masala and jeera powder.
Mix it and keep aside.
Locho chutney
In a mixer jar, add coriander, mint leaves, green chilli, ginger, salt, lemon juice, jeera powder, water and little locho.
Blend it to a fine chutney.
Surti locho
Wash chana dal, urad dal and soak them for 6 hours.
Take a mixer jar, add soaked chana dal, soaked urad dal, curd, soaked poha, little water and grind them to a thick batter.
Remove it in a bowl and keep aside for 5-6 hours for fermentation.
Once it is fermented, add pounded green chilli and ginger with some water.
Then add salt, hing, turmeric powder and mix it.
Heat a steamer, grease the tray with oil and pour surti locho batter.
Steam it for 12-15 mins on high-medium flame.
Once done, remove it and serve it on a plate.
Add some ghee on top, sprinkle some locho masala, sev and serve hot with green chutney, chopped coriander & chopped onion.
