How To Make Handmade Paper

In this video you'll learn how to make handmade paper that you can use in your journals and various art projects. It is a great way to recycle, have some fun and most of all create. I hope you get inspired!

What you need for the project:
1) Mould and deckle (make your own with 2 picture frames or 2 inexpensive stretched canvases, plus a piece of aluminium window screen stapled to one frame and secured with some duct tape)
2) Plastic vat (larger than your mould and deckle)
3) Sponge
4) Blender
5) Several small towels and linen sheets
6) Recycled paper
7) Water
8) Flower petals, dried plant pieces - optional

Thank you for this tutorial. Lots of tips and tricks, that I didn’t know. I like the idea of letting the paper scraps soak and get soft. I made some homemade paper last summer but I didn’t use enough water and it was very thick. Thanks for sharing!

I would add some food coloring or a few drops of ink into the mixture. Some plant materials can give color too. Perhaps, instead of water I could make a natural dye with onion skin or avocado for example, and soak scraps in it before pressing. 😊
