New subscriber, this works with my 1000w Sharp microwave. 1/2 teaspoon for every regular egg, more is better, to be absolutely sure it doesn't not crack or explode. One can even make soft boiled eggs at around 4 to 4:30 minutes, 4:30 to 5 minutes is hardboiiled (may need a lot of trial error to get the perfect soft-boiled egg for the salt, container size factor, water and time ratio. God bless.

Well I just had 2 of 4 eggs explode in my microwave using the "poke a hole in the broad end of the egg and cook for 4 minutes" after preheating the water for another 4 min. Lots of info out on the internet but it sure is a crap shoot! This time I'm using salt which wasn't mentioned in ANY of the other videos I watched and poking holes in both ends of the egg instead of just the broad end and cooking on high for 8 min at 50% power. If I don't add another comment assume that I was successful! Ron was 1000% right, an exploded egg in a microwave is a mess!

Fun fact: Cutting open a hard boiled egg will cause an explosion of boiling water due to pockets of superheated water inside, so making a hard boiled egg in the microwave would effectively be as if creating a cheaper alternative to a grenade
@pkp6791 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! You are correct. I actually used the method as outlined. The egg didnt explode in the microwave, but it exploded on the counter after it had been removed from the microwave-- which is far more dangerous!! People need to get real and stop trying to recreate the wheel! You can boil an egg on the stove in the same amount of time and eliminate risk of putting an eye out!
