All you need is salt to prevent egg from exploding.
Many of them use complicated process to boil the egg in microwave oven, but guess what, you don't have to do all those things. It's really simple to boil eggs in microwave using a little salt so that the egg wont explode. Watch the video and enjoy cooking boiled eggs.
How long to boil eggs:
Depending upon the power of the Microwave oven, number of eggs time may vary.
It may take between 6-12 mins for boiling around 4 eggs.
For 700-800 watt around 9 to 12 mins.
For 1000 watt around 6 to 9 mins.

After reading through the comments I was very hesitate to try this. Well, I just tried it and it worked!! I did not have any issues and I followed all of the instructions in the video but I added more salt because I was afraid that my eggs would explode. While my eggs were in the microwave I put 2 slices of Texas butter toast in the oven. I took them out and put a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on the toast to melt. Then I sliced the boiled eggs, added salt & pepper and put it on the Texas toast and let me tell you... It was so delicious!!🍴

I saw a video that said put them in microwave for 8 minutes on one side then 8 minutes on the other side. The baked potato turned out hard as a 2x4. The next time I only done them for about 6 minutes on each side and it turned out okay.

For everyone copying the video and getting bad results: The oven used in the video only has maximum microwave power of 800 watts (model Onida Power Grill 20). Note the wattage of your own microwave and adjust power accordingly. The boiling point of water is also lower at higher altitudes, meaning cooking times with water can vary with altitude (less time at lower altitude, more time at higher altitude).

I tried to do this several years ago. I put an egg in a glass of water, put the power on low, to try to avoid overheating, and watched from a distance. It all seemed to work well, and the time ran out without anything happening. Then after waiting a few seconds, I approached to open the microwave door. U can also fully cook rice in a microwave. 2cups water to 1cup of rice. Set timer for 20 min. Add butter salt and fluff. For perfect rice every time.

I almost didn't try this recipe cuz of "the haters/suckers' comments". I'm glad I didn't listen to them. IT DOES WORK. Just follow the instruction. Mine is 800 watts Daewoo. I use the quick start button 10 mins on default setting. WORKS LIKE A CHARM. No explosion like those idiots say

It works, I boiled an egg for three minutes on high power. It was soft boiled but delicious. Experiment by boiling eggs for 3-4 minutes and then if it's soft boiled increase time a little.

If this works without too much trouble it's how I'm going to boil all my eggs. Let's face it; hard boiling eggs in a pot is not exactly fool-proof either. In the past, I've forgotten to set the timer, forgotten the eggs altogether, resulting in exploding eggs, a burnt pot and a pervasive and lingering odor that could have come from the mouth of hell. The microwave will at least turn itself off and beep at me, resolving that particular problem. Thank you, Savita.

The explosion actually resembles that of a shotgun blast, the eggs looks like they have been shot by said shotgun. It also blew the microwave door open. I cleaned up the ungodly mess that smelled of raw sewage only to learn that the microwave no longer worked. While I intended to make egg salad, I ended up with a new microwave. Winning lol

Be safe, place a microwave-able cover over the eggs. You may have to increase the time. The eggs may explode if your timing is over by a small fraction. This is not a good way to find out that all eggs are not the same all the time.

Tip: If you are only cooking one egg, you need to turn the power down to about 25% and still cook for 10 minutes. If you try cooking it at 100% power for 2.5 minutes, the egg will explode.

The presenter did not mention what power rating should be used. The eggs will explode while is on high heat rating because microwave cooks from inside out. 10 minutes seems a little too long. It can be achieved but you have to try using various ratings and times yourself. Salt has a temperature lowering effect and it maintains even temperature of the water around the eggs while cooking by the microwave. Hope this helps.

I am using water kettle for eggs. Boiling time is depends upon kettle quality. My one took 3 minutes to boil 3-4 eggs (still raw). Let kettle off automatically , wait for 10 minutes and rest is same procedures. For more savings, steamed your eggs while cooking rice in rice cooker. Faster and cost effective.

Tried with two eggs @ 800w 6 minutes and no salt. One of the eggs cracked, still cooked and edible though! Great vid
