Nice! I like to use the square molds from Hobby Lobby to make little "jewels" and no powered sugar needed. No thermometer needed either, just cook about 7 minutes and test in cold water to cold crack stage. And yes, I lick the spoon after it cools! :) 50 cents, no, those flavors are almost $2 a piece now. :) Love the animals too!

I made my candies while watching your guiding video and it was really helpful!! Your instruction is clear and straight forward, simple to follow! I also got my own experience while making them. It seems like the more water I put the harder the candy dries. So for the third time I put less water but more syrup and sugar, then the candy became very quick to dry. I also put in different food colors. However it seems difficult to make them into shapes so I ended up with random shapes like porcelain fragments of!! My friends love them!! Thank you so much for your video and your assistant. p.s I love those cute animals pop up sometimes~~~

You see, I never really had grandparents.. My grandmother on my mom's side called me grossvand overweight when I was like 7.. It almost made me anorexic, thank god my parents were perceptive of it early on. But again, I never really had grandparents. But when I stumbled on this channel, I feel like I finally understand the whole grandparent thing. Honestly, he's so sweet and goofy and I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

just saw this video, my mom made this for years in a variety of flavors and colors. Brad is absolutely correct on the when it hits it sticks I still have the scars to prove it. just be aware that some flavors can easily take your breath away as they are quite strong (cinnamon, peppermint etc) I do like your cutting method though I dont remember it taking so long to harden on the sheet pan, but maybe we had ours thinner. and we did a light coating of oil to help it not stick to the pan.

You made this look so easy! My girls use to ask me to make anise candy EVERY year. It was a 50/50 chance it would turn out (either I didn't cook it long enough, or I burned it!). Maybe now that I have a digital thermometer I may be more successful! Anyway....thanks for the memories!

Jus made your candy recipe and I loved it! Came out perfectly. I have been making glass candy for years...the recipe I use comes out great and taste like cotton candy...however, because I use vinegar in my recipe it alters the taste of flavorings a ittle. Did u use tincture?
@CondemnedVideos2 жыл бұрын
@@Zarglog I used some wax and decarbed it just before putting it in so it was liquidey. Tinctures should be fine if they're pretty concentrated, but if they're not very concentrated I'd subtract out however many ml of tincture is going in from the amount of water this recipe calls for, that way it's not too liquidey.

I really, really, really, really, really enjoyed this video. You might all enjoy my Mom and Dad's sugared popcorn. Pop a batch of popcrn and set aside in a large bowl. Next do a basic sugar and water (no glycerin or corn syrup) recipe to the point it will harden when you put a drop in a saucer of cold water (you want it to essentially recrystalize on the popcorn). Pour slowly over the popcorn stiring CONSTANTLY. It will coat your popcorn with a thin even coat of crispy goodness. Because it is at the hard crack stage and you've stirred/ tossed the corn lightly the whole time while pouring very slowly in a thin stream from above the pan, the sugar will harden as it coats and your popcorn won't be sticky and clump. Some like the combination of salty and sweet, so use salted popcorn. If not, use hot air popcorn. It may or may not be flavored. I prefer the pure popcorn flavor. I also like to leave the natural color which hardens snowy white. One more note: It is much easier with 2 people; one pouring while the other stirs/tosses and stabalizes the bowl, giving it a slight rotaion to ensure an even distribution. It may sound complicated, but it is not.
@Bigfamilyhomestead8 жыл бұрын
Boy, that sounds good! Any chance of you having a video of it?
