I am very mindful of Not adding any type of sweeteners and I would Not advise anyone to use Agave Syrup or any "Sweeteners or Artificial Sweeteners" at all. I am carful of what Organic fruits I use because of the sugar content. Not all cinnamon is birb safe >>> Cassia/Chinese cinnamon contains high levels of a toxic blood thinner called coumarin that can cause severe, even deadly, liver complications in parrots. A high quality Organic Ceylon Cinnamon is what I use. I also chop up some Organic leafy greens so they get a little bit of everything. Great video and I can see how much you love your birbs! I hope this information might be useful to some viewer. The issue with this video is that Viewers might think they can add other artificial sweeteners like I read in the comment section, Stevia or use Sweetened coconut milk? It's also important to know what type of Oatmeal to use.. I'd recommend Organic Steel Cut. I donate my time by making organic food at our local birb sanctuary. I just want to put this information out there, please don't take this as me being a mr. know it all. I just have a passion for parrots and I love that you love them too. 💜💜💜

I know the birds will 😍 this for Breakfast.while traveling for my 1st time in a van.I ended up in Quartzsite Arizona to have solar installed,a week later I was Offered a Holiday job,by the owners.Now a month later 7 Macaws And 1 Amazon parrot a few bites.I am in ❤️with every single one of them,They are All rescues.Its going to be hard when I leave at the End of January 😥

i have considered this, believe me. but after my mothers budgies developing behavioral issues and never had good interactions with humans before coming into our care im worried about taking in new birds who might be just as difficult, i just dont believe to be up to the task of fixing behavioral issues. but im still on the look and nothing is set in stone, so maybe i will get out there and adopt a bird rather than buying one :)

Laura Fischer "issues" are usually taught to the bird. They are naturally loud messy obnoxious critters. Humans teach them how to be louder by coming over and giving them attention, which they want. Parrots aren't perfect, and just because they are a baby doesn't mean everything will be peachy fine. At 2 years old is the timing that they usually end up getting rehomed. They wanna go find a mate. Their "mom" that's hand raised or whatever won't do and they start biting or yelling because their once favorite is now not needed. Then a new home is in order. Find a previously loved one that just needs a home, until then, research!!!!

makes sense when you put it in words, thank you! i know of a few places that might have birds up for adoption, and i will more carefully look into their needs before settling down on one, but it will probably last me another two or three months until i actually do so, so during that time i will research thoroughly.

Laura Fischer Everything Pebbles said is correct! Laura I'm going to give you a link that will back everything Pebbles just said. Parrots choose their owners and there is no guarantee when you bring a baby into your home it's going to choose you. Many birds at Age 2 can turn on their owners because they are taught bad behavior or they just don't like you. It's important to educate yourself before making this lifetime. Getting hands-on experience by fostering a parrot is the best way to prepare yourself for a lifetime commitment.

Wow another great video! Oatmeal is so yummy! Do you know if stevia is safe for parrots? I had asked about toys last video. I have a spunky sun conure. He loves to shred things, and I have him a lafeber nutriberry wrapped in toilet paper yesterday. He really made a mess of it and enjoyed tearing it apart! I checked out jungle toys, but couldn’t find anything besides a Facebook page.

I'm not sure if you have watched this video. You might find a few ideas your sun will enjoy. Try hanging a metal skewers with fruit and veggies. I wouldn't give Stevia to parrots to play it safe. 😉

You only want to sprinkle a tiny bit of cinnamon. A little jar feeds 10 of my birds. You just want to give them a teaspoon and they're Bowl. It's important to only leave it out no longer than 3 hours.

Good question! I would stay away from soy milk when it comes to parrots. It can create a hormonal imbalance and block the absorption of calcium in your parrots.
