Anjelica, me again. You made me cry speaking about Bo (spelling?). I understand your joy in hearing his beautiful little voice. I’ve shared with you before that my Grandson is also on the Autism spectrum. He has been verbal, however, slow to speech and does have a speech impediment. To add to the speech impediment, he lost his two front teeth so has a lisp. I am proud and blessed to say that my Hito is now six years old and just started school this last August. He is making such progress! He is excelling in some areas and learning so much. I know with your Love and the Love of your family, your Son will grow and thrive. His voice makes me happy! ❤️

Those are sounds of joy for sure. My son was non verbal till about 4. I kept getting told he's stubborn. Then one day I was like no he's not stubborn, something isn't right. We started having him tested around 4, the test results said he had Asperger's and shortly thereafter he started talking. My daughter and I made Russian Tea Cakes (Danish Wedding Cakes, Swedish Tea Cakes, Mexican Wedding cakes, Snowballs, etc) and I made them with no nuts. I used to put pecans and walnuts in them, but everyone having a different nut allergy now I just omitted them. The kids gobbled them up already and didn't realize there were no nuts. I might have to make these instead of snickerdoodles like I normally do.

Now, I won’t have to ask him, because I definitely want to try this cookie recipe. I’d like to add the anise seed to this recipe-☺️. I honestly have never found a good biscocho recipe that I like. Apologies for being long winded.1. My wife, who is Hispanic, had never heard them called hojarascas so she was totally lost until you called them polvorones, at which point I started snickering. 2. Thank you for this recipe. I have been looking and never found one that seems this simple. 3. Good luck on the recipe book! I guess we will be seeing a balder Gochujang Mamá since every Mexican learns to cook by sight and taste. Pinch of this half a hand full of that. 4. If anybody has any negative comments about your son then delete them, kick them and then BAN them. This is your home you are inviting us into. And lastly, my wife wanted to know what part of Mexico your family is from, if that is something you want to put out here. Thank you and God Bless you!

Thank you Dale. I appreciate it. On my Paternal side I have family in Piedras Negras and some in San Luis Potosi. On my Maternal side we have family from Monterrey that eventually moved to Reynosa and Laredo. I actually have an Aunt that is from a small farm outside of Oaxaca. My uncle, her and my cousins would drive from Houston all the way to Oaxaca every Summer. For the last 5 years or so, they stopped because of it being too dangerous and traveling with grand kids made it more difficult. Wishing you all the best! Happy Holidays.

Gochujang Mamá I do too. I wanted a kitchen aide stand mixer for a very long time, and I finally got one a couple years ago, and I honestly don’t use it very much. I end up using my hand mixer or just my hands when I’m baking. I’ve probably used it 2 maybe 3 times.
