How to make homemade dishwasher powder? No harsh chemicals

To create a homemade dishwasher powder follow the steps below:
Ingredients:
- 2 parts bicarbonate of soda
- 2 parts citric acid (powder)
- 1/2 part dishwasher salt
- 1/2 part distilled/white vinegar
- A few drops of an essential oil of your choice
Equipment:
1. A cup or a small jug for measuring
2. Mixing bowl
3. Spoon for mixing
4. Gloves if you have very sensitive skin
Instructions:
1. Measure out the dry ingredients and place them in the mixing bowl along with the essential oil. Mix to combine.
2. Gradually add half of the vinegar, allowing the mixture to fizz and expand as the vinegar reacts with the bicarbonate of soda.
3. Add more vinegar if needed to achieve the desired consistency.
4. Mix thoroughly with the spoon, stirring at intervals until the fizzing subsides, and the mixture starts clumping together.
5. Once the chemical reaction stops and the solution is hard, crush it to create a powder consistency.
6. Transfer the powder into a container with a lid.
7. Store the container in a dry place until ready for use in your dishwasher.
8. Use 40 grams of the powder per load. I put it straight to the dishwasher not to the usual tablet dispenser.
I’ve been using this powder for about 6 months , it’s the best recipe I’ve made so far. Sometimes it doesn’t wash the coffee or tea stains as good as the store bought full of nasty chemicals once but I don’t mind. I wash them by hand when needed.
