Thank you sooo much!! When browsing around, I was soo discouraged at even getting my own hoops, they can be so expensive! My eldest daughter, 5 years old, was sooo enthralled with your video! Shes never sat so still before! She wants to learn hooping as much as I do as a fun pass time outdoors, so knowing how to do this is so wonderful! Thank youuuu!!!

How important are the rubber O rings? What is their purpose? I've seen people make figure 8 hoops without them and they seem to work the same. Why do you suggest using them? Great video!

Thank you very much for the twistable hula hoop....it's exactly what I've been looking for. I don't hula but your advice might just help get my business going. I had to find a way of supporting fabric with as little structure as possible....and your clever advice is exactly what I needed. If this goes global I have you to thank in part. If it doesn't...well, thanks anyway. X

@@SarahMJordan thanks I will check it out!! Do you have a recommend for where else to find this tubings? The links are sold out on Amazon. I went to home depot but I'm not sure if was the same exact kind. And also the connectors. Looking to make 1.5 lb hoops
@SarahMJordan4 жыл бұрын
@@souldivinevibes Hi there, yes you can buy this tubing at home depot...make sure it is 125 PSI or 150 PSI for heavier hoops or 100 PSI for lighter hoops. They have the connectors and supplies there too. Happy hooping!
@souldivinevibes4 жыл бұрын
@@SarahMJordan ok. I saw a tubing but I think it was just plain pvc pipe because it looked more firmer than what you used. I couldn't find the connectors and no one at the store was much help lol. Thank you for further clarity!

Great video! I guess the "new" way is to use rivets and push buttons. Do sellers still make hoops with this method? Also wondering about grip on this hoop. You didn't use grip tape (except near connectors). Is vinyl sufficient for gripping? Thanks
@SarahMJordan4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching. I haven't bought or made any hoops in several years so I'm not sure about other sellers. Vinyl tape sticks to skin so yes.

fyi all you need to do is pre measure the hoop at your belly button before making the first cut. and another fyi, all you need to do is drop the ends of the hoop in some hot water for 20 seconds. this will make the plastic more forgiving to add the connector.

Where do you find connectors that are smooth in the middle? I've gone to Lowe's and Home Depot, and each of those places' 3/4" connectors have little raised fins in the middle of them, that I can't see not getting in the way when it comes to joining the two ends of the tubing.

Hello! Instead of the blowdrier can we use boiling water? Thanks
@SarahMJordan6 жыл бұрын
Hello Maria, you can use boiling water at your own risk because it may release harmful plastic vapors.

Also whats 3/4 inches mean in centimeters? I was converting 3inch to cm and it gave me 7 cm. Is that the diameter of the tube? Here we mesure the outside diameter of the tube...

HELP!!! I'm trying to make my own hula hoops but the first two hoops I have made have been warped! In the coil the tubing comes in I let it expand for a couple of days then cut it off. While its in the coil its a perfect circle but once I put the connector in it gets warped. also how do you make sure the end with the connectors doesn't stay straight and make the hoop look weird. Help Please! Thank you!

@nickolelevine30919 жыл бұрын
can u just paint the hoop if u would like or does it have to be specificly tape
@DeathSlayerKid9 жыл бұрын
+Nickole Levine paint would wear off, you could spray it and use fixative, it would still wear off but it would last longer. Although with tape you can make it just as colourful and it adds security to the structure.

My connectors re to smll. Should they be the same size as the tubing or larger.
@SarahMJordan10 жыл бұрын
If they are too small, use a hot glue gun and glue the hoop together with the connector inside. The glue will fill the space. I've done this before and it worked perfectly.
