Hello Kirk, I have a question about shaft lean and the relation to rotation as well as the need of lowering in order not to top the ball in your swing system. Leaning the shaft usually reduces the radius. Turning the shoulders left around impact pulls the shaft up and away from the ground. These two components could lead to top the ball, especially if we raise the handle at set up. Whats your answer in your system? I believe that Moe made so much room for his right elbow coming into impact. He delayed the contact with the ball with an elbow in front of his right hip in a pitch position. I think that his knee bent was vital in his swing to compensate the delayed hit. Like a geometrical need.

Distance from the ball is key. If you stand closer then you have room to release properly. Setup far away like Moe did and you must compensate by dropping much lower coming into impact which also negates the proper use of ground forces and results in lost speed. If one setup too close he would be forced to make room by pulling away coming into impact. Finding the middle is the key, stay level, and release like the pros.
