Sell to the blackmarked Guy between wealthy Farm and Hunter Camp, then you dont need to rest. Just resell everything stolen right back to him. Finding guards to pay the fine will be harder, but less hassle with finding food.

Do a mysteries and wisdom quest, you will get a item for camp and when place your companions or animals next to that item, they consume 0 food during next rest ( u can place max 8 companions next to that item)

Hi Otto. You can hold CTRL to sell or buy or move a whole stack of items. It's written next to "sell for..."

Its 20 gold per stack stolen to pay off the guard. Game just aggregates it across all merchants. So if you stole 3 from the meat merchant, 2 from the vegetable merchant for a total of 5 stacks, its 100 gold to pay off the guard. So basically, any item stack worth less than 20 gold is not worth stealing. Ive never waited long enough for the penalty to disappear.

If you have a trade post, garrison 4 of your troops. Also, if you have a training dummy, you'll make multiple rests really worth it.

It is easy money for beginning. But if you are already reach level 4 trade and build trading place, just put the stolen item in chest there, then find the guard like in the video. After that you can fence it in time while doing other thing.

@Mark LaPlante I've been spending a lot of time grinding in this campaign. I found a few gems in loot but most are from mining and crafting at the apothecary. I've just been saving them throughout the playthrough. The exploit will work with any items though. Horseshoes for example would work fine. Or weapons would be a good choice as well.

It doesn't work quite as well since the developers have tweaked the fines. But you can basically use the same technique and accuse companions instead if the fines are too high. You just want to make sure to leave you important companions at the travel posts and that you just accuse randoms you recruit from the taverns.

If you're referring to upgrading at the brotherhood camp, I never get the option to upgrade anything. What am I missing?

@@chrissullivan6574 if you'll talk to the npc selling the skill books, you'll see an upgrade button. You'll only be able to upgrade a few select weapons within your inventory (must be unequip). I think only legendary weapons can be upgraded.

You will collect gems mostly from crafting and mining. You won't find many early game. But the selling, stealing, laundering, paying the fine and then repeating will work with any items. Weapons for example, would be good items to use for this exploit.

Your food consumption is due to your animals. I have 19 human and 3 animals and my food consumption is only 65

This is true. Definitely wasn't the best party composition to demonstrate this exploit. Lol. Though, it no longer works the same way. The fines have been re-balanced since recording this. But, there is another way around paying the fines... I'll be posting a new video in the next day to covering this. Thanks for the comment xt.

I steal from the brotherhood in tiltren then go to the black market guy at the bandit camp in the snow by the tomb then sell to him. Then run to the hairs pay my small fine the. Do it again

It's easy. Sell your goods, steal them back, launder them, pay a tiny fine and repeat.

How were you able to acquire so many gems?

@Nooms162 I've spent a lot of time grinding in this campaign. The gems show up in the occasional loot. But I acquired most of them from mining and also crafting at the apothecary. Each time you mine ore there is a small chance you will find a gem. And when you craft the metal at the apothecary there is also a small chance to produce a gem. I've just been saving them over time. However, this exploit will work with any item, the more expensive the better. Forging a bunch of high level weapons, selling and stealing them I think would work really well.
