My brother who is 32 put in chilli flakes and now the oil is fine but you’ve got to use a strainer for your required oil…I said to him you’ve done it wrong as he just put in crushed chilli flakes and left it at that, does it make a difference or not?

You can just do it like that, but the flavor becomes stronger when it's been heated up, and heating the Oil is always a good thing to help kill potential bacteria 🙂
